No. Along with Cannavaro, Gattuso and Di Natale he's one of the old guard that Prandelli has culled.

Italy's were expected to start:

Sirigu

Motta - Bonucci - Chiellini - Molinaro

Pepe - De Rossi - Palombo

Balotelli - Cassano

Amauri

Hopefully it's Chiellini that he's watching.

I can only guess that he was the argentinian in italy? He was born an argie wasnt he?

I imagine he's just watching the game. If not, since Italians rarely leave Italy, perhaps he's watching an Ivorian.

Ryan is the most plausible ITK at the moment. I'm sure POTL also has his finger on the pulse but Ryan's info does seem genuine. Cheers for getting all the info you have so far mate!

I honestly think that POTL is someone very close to the deals. Personally I try to get what I can but even Harry is never too sure when we are close to finalising something until the chairman calls. POTL must be in the loop between there if you ask me. He deserves massive respect.

Could be. It's only been a few weeks since we've known Woodgate wasn't going to make it, so not sure how long we've been looking seriously at CBs.

Thinking about the match tonight, to me Kalou is the obvious player Redknapp will be watching - he plays that same left forward role as Bellamy, Arda, Young and about every other player we've been linked with this window.

About as much chance as us signing Lucio.

Harry interested ina an african player? where would you get that idea from lol On a side note, my boss has been learning italian for years and I think Harry shares his passion of Italy. They do go there a lot, so it might not be anything. Unless he is in town talking about Hunterlaar?

It's not really the right time of year just to be "taking in a game" so he must be in Italy for a reason.

I think he must either be watching a particular player in the match or he's there to speak to someone who plays for an italian team.

Indeed. Redknapp's main hobby (aside from Mario Kart) is apparently Lorenzo's, an Italian resturant that he owns in Charminster. He often talks of his love of Chianti and is reported to holiday there a lot too.

The game tonight is at Upton Park btw.

Maybe that Gervinho he looked pretty nifty in the WC, we could
also do with an Italian defender.

This is the wild speculation thread right?

No one in a blue shirt was any good. Yaya toure was walking through the game so easy. Gervinho was good. Iboue was a twat. Usual stuff really

I hope he's got so fed up of City pissing us about he's decided to have a look at Balotelli. Would love to snatch a signing from under their noses after watching them mess us around all summer, as unlikely as it is.

Other thoughts (though Kalou is still my bet):

Amauri is a forward very much like we need.

Palombo is what Parker would be like if he was good.

No thanks to amauri, he's shocking. Palombo is not all that either and anyway, I doubt his club would sell
