I'm not having it that we're getting rid of anyone that's been playing regulalrly this season or Ade for that matter.
Who'd buy Ade anyway? Levy would want £15m+ and his wages are beyond anyone who'd want him. I think he's fine with us and whether it turned to shit or not we're stuck with him; for me, a good thing.
'One of our best', on paper, Parker fits the bill due to his recent award winning and he's not the future. If Harry was dangling £4-5m in front of Levy he'd be crazy not to take it. Similarly, Dawson is 'one of our best'; ie. nearest thing we've got to a lifer, universally liked, i'm sure people around the club would be sad to see him go... All about perspective you see...
'Mourts' (what happened to his extra 'r' LOL!) not being straight cash sounds like it may well be a Levy special,, ie few quid up front and the rest on the never never. That has got to be the only way Levy will part with a big fee, and maybe that is why it's potentially a goer. Who knows, perhaps work has been done these past months, but if Zahavi isstill involved (is he?) i'll be getting excited as and when.
I speculated that a 'Willian' or similar deal could be funded 2/3 by sales a few days a go and it's not impossible. If we can get £5-6-7-8m for any 2 or all 3 of Dawson, Parker and Huddlestone, then Danny Boy is writing a small cheque, factor in that Dawson and Parker are most likely big earners and you've instantly freed up wage space for pricy players.
If it's all put together like Dawson, Parker, Huddlestone OUT £17m
Willian/whoever + Moutinho in c£40m
then we've spent the money we claim to have put by for Moutinho last window and have got in a couple of crackers, WITHOUT making Daniel cry. Wages would most likely be like for like.
Obviously, this is an ideal scenario, but as the Mayan calendar ends and we move into the transit of the Age of Aquarius, then ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
