Someone just posted this on COYS in relation to Leandro:

"Not sure if it was posted but Archibald on SO posted last night that this deal has dragged too much now for us (as in the club) but Inter keep coming back to us trying to sell."

The problem is clearly Leandro & his agent. Inter want to sell because his value will begin to decline if they don't soon.

That could be a good point for us. We can now open our eyes on someone else and the prize for Damiao could drop like it dropped with Lloris.

But it would be nice to sign anyone soon....

I can believe this. We wouldn't have kept bidding if we weren't getting signals from someone that Inter are willing sellers.

Inters president seems to use us to try and start an auction but no other teams have out bid us. I guess Levys thinking is that sooner or later they will have to sell him as his value just keeps declining.

Similar to Lloris last year, when our interest cooled, the deal went through. My expectation is that this deal will not happen but you can't rule it out, we shall see by the end of the month.

If this is true then the worry is Levy will see it as us holding all the aces and take it to the wire like the LLoris deal. The risk then is we end up with nothing if it all falls through again.

No reason to doubt Archibald on this one. We as fans are pissed of wondering if he'll ever sign, can you imagine how Levy and co must be feeling. We must move on from this and drag it all out summer. It's embarrassing.

I'd be happy if someone else came in and signed him just to end this stupid saga- I don't think he is the answer. Benteke for me is the much safer and easier bet - deal with an English club, a player who has proved himself in the league and already has Belgium friends at WHL. All eggs should be thrown at this rather than wasting time with some overrated player owned by about 3/4 agents in Brazil.

This has to be a good sign.
Either we play it cute Levy style and eventually get him a lot cheaper than he would have been or we move on and pursue other targets.
So love him or hate him, Damaio that is, SURELY WE'RE ALL GOOD WITH THIS?

plenty of other strikers out there, this has gone on longer than Coronation St

It's going on a couple of years. If he was that good and had developed each year since then, we and Marseille would not be the only clubs chasing him. Something tells me he ain't all that. Perhaps AVB and co know better?
