Good news on Fazio. One season isn't really enough to judge a player but he has looked distinctly average and would rather see Dier used ahead of him.

Not so pleased with the news re Carroll. I hope we only loan him as he definitely has something. I can see him blossoming over the next few years.

I also agree with the few that have highlighted the stick Mike Green has been getting. It's pretty ridiculous. Maybe donkey wasn't the best terminology but plenty would agree it's accurate. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It would be a pretty boring forum if we all agreed with each other.

Considering he plays in the attacking midfield 3 whenever Poch has used him, I highly doubt we will be short. Add the imminent signing of N'jie and obvious inclusion of Pritchard (who is a much better player IMO and fits Poch's philosophy a lot more)

I don't disagree on Pritchard but we won't know that until he plays. Performance in training and match days are two very different propositions as Soldado will vouch.

Carroll is a nice little player but keeping him would be no more than hoarding. He needs to be starting if he's ever going to reach the next level, and he won't get that here.

The fact we are selling fazio is an indicator that we will buy a cm in that Dier will be one of four cbs

That would be a real shame (Carroll). I understand why it might happen, but I would just like to see him given one proper season around our squad. Played further forward as a no.10 (but one who can drop in and play as an auxiliary CM too) I think his passing is often more incisive than Eriksen's is at times.

I know Carroll can look a bit flimsy at times, but hell, Eriksen's not exactly Conan the fucking barbarian.

Can we give the whole Mike bashing a rest, please? Not only is it quite boring, some of the stuff he gets is quite distasteful. What's worse is that some people are not replying directly to challenge his opinion but just mocking him. He's a spurs fan. One of us. Who has never been abusive to anyone on here.
Except me.

Think once Carroll has gone Wimmer will take his number 28 shirt. It's what he wore at his last club.

I hope that the departures mean a more fluid, flowing transition from back to front with ball playing defenders and now speed in attack with N'jie coming in.
Since the likes of Lennon and Bale have departed our attacking as at times looked so staid and pedestrian.

Think it's a mental thing with Carroll, he just doesn't look like he backs himself a lot of the time. As opposed to Pritchard, who from what I've seen, looks like a cocky little fucker, who's totally sure of his talent.

Remember Bentaleb, Mason, Pritchard, Alli, Winks and Onomah have all come through since Carroll was the great white hope 3-4 years ago.

It's a really good thing that he's being eclipsed by better younger homegrown players. That's how the production line is meant to work.

Pritchard is simply better (despite being younger). Goals and an eye for a pass. Recent goal vs Milan aside, Carroll is not enough of a goal threat to succeed in the PL as a #10 IMHO. Obviously if we sign an N'Jie or Berahino looking for through balls he could be useful but I think Eriksen and Pritch can find those passes too. Couple that with the breakthroughs of Bentaleb and Mason and the signing of Alli and there's little space for him. Just came through at the wrong time unfortunately for him.
