I can take Walker moving - but Dier leaving would be depressing and disastrous for the team. Not only for me but for most Spurs fans in this forum. Just look at how many have reacted against Dier's possible departure here.

What happens if Wanyama gets injured? What happens if Alderweireld is hurt? Dier's a mainstay of the side. His game numbers prove this. And his leadership qualities can't be discounted. On top of that it sends a message to other Spurs players. If we have a poor year next season at Wembley then I can see others (such a Dele Alli in particular) considering a move. The present team is solid and united in a common goal under Pochettino. To sell Dier at this point could undermine everything. After next season we'll be in the new stadium and the Club will have to fill it. Success will fill that stadium - but disappointment, disarray and the breakup of a winning formula could have dire consequences in the longer run.

We just can't consider selling this player.

"It's your life, Brian"

'It's My Life' is a song by Brian Free - so we're looking at a free transfer

"Romeo & Juliet" were star-crossed lovers - so it's a swap of two stars

The Shakespeare link continues with Leicester ...

So we're swapping Janssen for Vardy

Simples.

As much of a stretch as that is, I think you're closer to the mark than the Dier stuff.

:peeking:=Peeking, as in taking peek at the thread, doesn't validate any theory

If United is after a player , I fully expect Manchester news reporters bandwagon to be after the player. I dont see any reporting around Dier...so unless theres something from their reporters, am not going to be bothered with Dier leaving...

QUOTE="GetSpurredOn, post: 5491155, member: 8444"]United have just spent £31m on Lindelof, are they really about to spend, what would presumably be an even bigger fee again, on Dier? Circa £70m on two Centre Backs??

I think mourinho would use dier in his best position... midfield[/QUOTE]

United would be looking for a long term replacement for Carrick
