It's not greed if you know that worse players are getting paid much more. *cough* Jese Fucking Lingard *cough*

Harry Maguire went to Leicester on £80k per week apparently.

Snodgrass from Hull to West Ham for £70k

No wonder Ashley Cole nearly crashed his motor after only being offered £55k by Arsenal back in 2006

It's still greed when the majority of the country needs a few years to earn the amount you do in a week (without bonuses and sponsors) and they're the silly feckers paying your wages by buying season tickets, shirts, TV packages, endorsed products etc...

Wrong thread for this though.

There's literally zero point comparing footballers with the common man these days. We've been lucky that we've got a squad full of generally good eggs, but it's just not realistic to chide them for wanting to paid what is now the market rate.

I usually stay out of the wages argument cos it leaves me exhausted, but......

This is spot on. Football is a different world whether we like it or not.

Yes, in an ideal world, I would prefer to see brilliant nurses and those absolute heroes we have just witnessed from the fire services being the people to earn £100,000 per week, but unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world. And the staggering sums of money in the game pumped in from the tv companies and advertisers (and even us) has to go somewhere (Would be nice if more was pumped back into kids footy and the fans).

But if it's a choice between already super rich chief executives getting the dough, or the actual footballers THE ONES WHO ENTERTAIN AND PUT THE BUMS ON SEATS, then I choose the latter all day long. It's not their fault they are offered obscene amounts of money to do something most of us would do for free and it is also fine in my book that they request what they feel is the market rate for their industry.

If a person in the profession I am in was being paid more than me for doing a job to a proven lower standard than i have, I would be pissed off and am sure many of you would be too. Why is it different for them just because of the amount of money involved?

If any of the top 6 want any of our players, they should all get a swift fuck off from Levy.

In no world should we be selling to a rival. Let them go abroad if they want to leave.

Sorry but for me that ITK is far too bold and specific to remain anonymous. If something that disharmonoius is to be posted I would prefer a name to stand behind it or it not be posted at all.

dragon1: Walker caused a few probe last season not with fitness ,other issues , if city meet our price he will go, but that's it , the rest Are under contract , some moan about there current salary but it's tough luck
Nice one, Dov.

Tough luck indeed, most of them signed them contracts within the last year, so they knew exactly what they were signing up for and they would have known they could earn more at the more elite clubs at that time too.

That's what he says... His actions point to profit maximization and very little else...
Profit maximization and winning the league aren't mutually exclusive. In fact the profits often come with sustained success in fact.

Just like with our star players if Levy is truly smart a lot of the commercial revenue comes from keeping the star players so his goal for profit maximization could overlap with keeping the stars.

Regarding ITK, you have to consider the Chinese whispers/potential for bias interpretation which must occur when gossip is passed down the line.

Unless the ITK is upper management then the gossip is already one step removed. We know, for example, that JJ works for the club and us fairly close to the centre. This makes him accurate, but circumspect. As far as I know none of SC's other ITK work for the club or claim to work for the club. This introduces the room for bias. For example, if he were a paid up member of the BSODL, then his gossip will be coloured by that. In this version of the Goat it's very possibly vice versa.

The moral? Take your goat curried or with a pinch of salt. Savour the flavour, but don't mistake it for truth.

The Goat's info sounded like classic agent chat, similar to what old Crystal Palace bleach blonde was bleating on about a few weeks back.......haters are gonna hate and we are more of a threat now than ever before, so get used to it! :cautious:

If you don't like Levy trust in Poch......he's magic, you know.

You bitches need to get a grip. The club is not going to jeopardise the relationship with Poch or dismantle the squad. We are building a 750m quid stadium FFS. Do you think Levy wants it opening with fanfare and filled with half the fans because we have offloaded most of the squad and become a mid table team? If there is any movement it will be because Poch seizes the opportunity to upgrade player quality. Chill - your like a bunch of tarts all having PMT at the same time :D

Edmonton on coys re Dier and the daily telegraph nonsense today

Absolutely, no way does Daniel ever reveal his price in an opening exchange. My understanding is he is staying anyway.
