yeah I hate that levy bought in those experienced players, the ones that the manager had nothing but praise for, and the way they helped us finish 4th.

DL you're soooooo not doing your job properly.

Do me a favour they were not good enough for what we wanted, had he of stepped up to the plate and delivered quality we would of finished third or better.

lol this isn't true

He didn't think Suarez would work with Rafa and we only had one big nut to spend on a striker. Might have been wrong not to sign him but let's not try and twist the truth too much.

Not sure we'd have spent 20+ million pounds on him anyway considering recent windows anyway.

Just as stupid.

For a start Michu was deployed as a midfielder before he got changed to a Striker, I get your point but for the mooted fee of £15 mil do you really think he's worth the risk? We don't have time for a guy to adapt, we need someone to hit the ground running, if you get my point. Honingstein and various other German outlets say he's no where near the level to go to a team aspiring for top 4 and beyond.

we might have. there are no guarantees. Chavs spend £100's of millions and didn't make the top 4 did they?

just 'cos people keep saying "spend more finish third" doesn't actually make it true!

Why not Lukaku?

There are no "if's" or "but's" in the fact that this kid will be the next Drogba. Saw him play several times this season and he will become the perfect five tool player. No doubt, that he has been a big influence in why WBA are where they are this season.

I would take this kid now for what is being touted around for Leandro, far better prospect.

Chelsea would be mad to let him go, especially to us. Will never happen.

So i guess the Damiao stories will come back in the summer ....cant wait ;) Moutinho is still up in the air according to some but as A+C said in his opinion it isn't happening and il second that!!. Lets hope at the v.least we do get a striker in. Holtby is a great bit of business for free but for the love of god please give us a striker!!

I have known about this guy!! im no scout, i just googled euro top goal scorers, this was before xmas. and there he was.
Szalai? I'm getting confuddled here.

Generally speaking, I'm not going to start second guessing the club here, whoever they bring in. I've accepted, before the window opened that Mouts, Leandro etc were simply not going to happen. However, what also cant happen is having an out-of-sorts Ade and Jermain "One Who Has Many Big Barren Spell" Defoe as out only recognized strikers. SO, eh. As long as it's someone AVB thinks he can coach and improve, then fine by me.

I've not seen any mooted price for him mate, and I've not even come close to suggesting he's the answer to our obvious problem, let alone suggested we should be signing him. All I said, and I stand by it, is that we shouldn't be dismissing players because of what appears to be a poor goalscoring record. Man United gave us £30million for Berbatov, he went there & scored 21 goals in his first 64 matches. He's shit then? Or to take it to another level, he scored 26 goals in his first 86 matches. He's really shit then? He currently has 7 goals in 17 matches in the PL this season. As a ratio, that works out to a possible 21 goals in 51 matches. My conclusion = He's shit!!

hopefully you can see I'm only being sarcastic in an attempt to get across the point I'm trying to make? The good news is that I have to go & get the kids from school now (y)

Is this the same Isco who got maybe three touches of the ball on Sunday? Fat lot of good he will do us against the current top six. No better than fucking Neville.

Had a quick look at YouTube on this Hungarian fella. He looked alright, good aerial presence, decent finish, recieves the ball quite well and a big lad. Could be worth a punt at the right price. 1 in 3 isn't ideal, but the Bundesliga is a very competitive league.

Someone mentioned Long as well and I wouldn't say no to him. Works extremely hard, tough player who could do well with Lennon and Bale providing crosses and some good distribution from Siggy/Dempsey and Dembele.

Of course I'd prefer the Llorentes, Damiaos etc.

There's talk much earlier in this thread that although the buyout is in theory £15m, that £3m would the level we would need to pay. Different perspective now?
