I would be happy to get in Negredo. His stats are good and he looks like he could do well. His club seem desperate to sell. Doesnt seem to be too much of a risk really. Holds the ball up, seems good with his head and can finish. Can kick a ball harder than ade but not as hard as defoe.:) Perfect.

Had a quick look at YouTube on this Hungarian fella. He looked alright, good aerial presence, decent finish, recieves the ball quite well and a big lad. Could be worth a punt at the right price. 1 in 3 isn't ideal, but the Bundesliga is a very competitive league.

Someone mentioned Long as well and I wouldn't say no to him. Works extremely hard, tough player who could do well with Lennon and Bale providing crosses and some good distribution from Siggy/Dempsey and Dembele.

Of course I'd prefer the Llorentes, Damiaos etc.

has anyone else noticed that the compilation videos tend to highlight the pro's rather than the all round game of players?

I saw a cracking showreel of one Gary Doherty. It was 1.5 secs long, but lummy - what a player! ;)

Is that just league goals? I only ask because before this season, Defoe had only scored 15 goals in his previous 47 matches.. That added to this season puts him on 25 goals in his last 69 games. Is Defoe shit too?

How about Adebayor? 25 goals in his last 68 matches. Is Adebayor shit too?

It's not a shit return, just a top five return. I thought we were looking to improve on that?

Torres has immeasurably more 'class' than Adebayor.

I will bid one thousand of my best British pounds for an ounce of what your are currently using to put those thoughts into the six inches between your ears..............................

Good distribution from Siggy/Dempsey and Dembele? Come on, get real. If we can have that good distribution, we would not have to grumble anymore.

I've not seen any mooted price for him mate, and I've not even come close to suggesting he's the answer to our obvious problem, let alone suggested we should be signing him. All I said, and I stand by it, is that we shouldn't be dismissing players because of what appears to be a poor goalscoring record. Man United gave us £30million for Berbatov, he went there & scored 21 goals in his first 64 matches. He's shit then? Or to take it to another level, he scored 26 goals in his first 86 matches. He's really shit then? He currently has 7 goals in 17 matches in the PL this season. As a ratio, that works out to a possible 21 goals in 51 matches. My conclusion = He's shit!!

hopefully you can see I'm only being sarcastic in an attempt to get across the point I'm trying to make? The good news is that I have to go & get the kids from school now (y)

Of course I totally get your point, it's just I'm extremely cautious of this guys record, I don't have much to go on other than that, but if he signed I'd obviously give him a chance as it does fit the "Buy young, decent and make quality" model we have set out.

why do you keep deleting the names of the posters you're quoting? It's weird.

(I mean this with all the friendly manner I can muster, of course. My boiler isn't working and it's freezing here - so if that was deemed rude, please accept my 'pologies!)

Siggy's made some very nice through balls when he's played. Dempsey's assists have been quite nice as well, the flick into the box for Bale for example. If we can get them performing consistantly we'll have two good distributors in the final third right there.

Sum: I had the impression that saying "Had a quick look at YT" came with caveat of it being highlights and not a just picture of the player and his abilities.

What a bunch of dicks these lot at Inter are. For the love of God what is up with them?
They know we really want him and as a result are happy to play around with the price, thinking we will eventually pay it or someone else will come in and out bid us. It is a very big part of the reason we didn't get Oscar in the summer.

Don't you think its strange that this is exactly what happened last time and the time before?. This info is regurgitated bollocks imo. either the lads team are the most ridiculously complicated team to deal with or its either so called WUMS taking the piss...Surely after what 3 years of chasing this guy we would know how to deal with the club!!...As i said il be expecting the Moutinho excuses to come soon enough i bet itl be the same shit also "its difficult". LOL but again we were apparently in touching distance last time so what could be so hard this time round?. imo something just does not add up with these two transfers...either we are utterly pathetic at Negotiating ( POSSIBLE );) or they were never ever going to happen ( REALITY ). thats my opinion on these two matters.

Szalai? I'm getting confuddled here.

Generally speaking, I'm not going to start second guessing the club here, whoever they bring in. I've accepted, before the window opened that Mouts, Leandro etc were simply not going to happen. However, what also cant happen is having an out-of-sorts Ade and Jermain "One Who Has Many Big Barren Spell" Defoe as out only recognized strikers. SO, eh. As long as it's someone AVB thinks he can coach and improve, then fine by me.

I'm at that point too. I do not in any way shape or form expect Moutinho and/or Damaio this (or any other) window.
However, I feel the signing of Holtby is a good one, and so long as we pick up a striker of equal (short term for depth) or better (for improvement or in terms of potential) ability, then I think it will have been an ok window.

Ultimately, Levy does run things a bit tight, but better that than spunk money left, right and centre like Liverpool for no return.
For every Suarez you get a Downing, Carroll, Henderson...etc

Paid for training facilities, Stadium, player wages and bonuses... is keeping some for when the RIGHT player becomes available at a reasonable price.

Training Facilities Stadium etc, this is a sign of things to come zero being spent hardly but were have the best training facilities and ground that money can buy.

Meanwhile we languish mid table i can see all the top players breaking our door down cant you.

The fact is players have been available but Levy wont spend, our next kick in the pinapples is when Bales sold off we wont see that money reinvested either we at least not on the same callibre of player.

Hes stabilised us no doubt financially but holds us back as regards taking us forward.
