Not picking on you pinks as others have said it to but let's just see who will be moaning about net spends if we're sitting in 8th come Xmas.

We could be in 8th at Xmas, but only a couple of points off top place or a CL place. What then?

As there seems to be a bit of a financial debate going on. Could someone a bit more knowledgeable than me briefly explain how the other clubs around us are spending millions this summer with FFP rules? I have always been proud how Spurs go about their spending and if this summer is the same then so be it. Just confuses me how other clubs manage it. CL money can't make that much difference can it?

We are a run as a self sustaining business. Remember that. I don't know why anyone expects us to spend anymore money than we generate. It's totally at odds with our business model.

As for Ben Davies: some players just need a chance to prove they're worthy of a higher level. Gary Cahill took it, Hart took it after being farmed out to Birmingham, Baines, Henderson & Wilshere. More than happy to give him a chance.

Thats a great point about cahill remember a lot of bitching on here when we were trying to buy him

Liverpool can spend because they've sold Suarez and expect to make more money from CL this year.
Arsenal/Utd can spend because over the last 3 years they have come in well under FFP. Utd are also not in European competition this season so don't need to worry about UEFA ffp.
City will have to try and balance the books.
Chelsea can spend a bit but will probably sell 1 or 2.

ali z:Young CB is Jamal we are very close to Davies too.
Guys do not expect major signings we are in addition to these two look for another CH and a LWF as well as 2/3 younger players. We are not going to get any head line grabbing signings, Poch is building from the back and realises he can only do it through 3/4 windows not in 1.
Jan likely to sign new deal

This is curious, he uses the term CB and then says another CH which tends to imply that he means another CB, but could he have meant CM? With so much speculation about Schneiderlin still it's curious that a CM isn't mentioned
I can live without a striker till Jan and I imagine short of a real bargain coming up Poch is just as happy to wait till then to see how Jay Rodriguez progresses after injury.

I'd be happy enough with Davies at LB, Lascalles as say a 5th CB option but we would need another more experienced CB unless the medical team feel Eunice can recover his pre injury form. If we get a CB and Poch's initial plans were Lovren I imagine he'd still be looking for a pretty decent name even if Lovren has been priced out

If the CH and LWF were decent quality then I guess I could live with the above, but I can't help feeling we will miss an important player if we don't add a midfield playmaker to the mix

Cos no one gives a fuck about FFP except for clubs like us what is uefa going to do to most of europes biggest clubs who carry a debt again as they dont give one.

I expect Liverpool to come in again for Davies and with the Suarez money offer more cash to Swansea, unless we can tempt them with say siggy naughton or any other fringe player we can get a good price for

Enlighten me?? Why not sell lloris then? You never know, we might be ok!. I'm not saying throwing money about works. But tbf it helps. Getting in kids for the future is all well and good but we need a cb that won't spend 3/4 of the season injured. We need a top quality lwf and a decent lb. play maker wouldn't go a miss either. Eriksen gets injured and we are in the shit.

Thanks. I can understand Liverpool spending as we did last year. Arsenal and Man Utd as well if they are well within the limits. As you say Man City's spending will be curbed as they are under sanctions but Chelsea have already signed Fabregas, Costa and the left back today. They will have to sell quite a lot then.
