Wow, Ginter. Been banging his drum for 18 months or so now.

Very talented player, can play defensive midfield because he is so talented on the ball as well as an astute defender. I agree with a post a couple of pages back about potentially bulking up but it's not a major issue, he's still very good in the air and deals with the majority of issues that come his way.

His story is an interesting one as he never played for any national teams at youth level before he came through and he had hardly played for Freiburg youth teams before he was brought through to the first team. The youth coach got made the first team coach and brought him through straight away, a bit like Bentaleb with Tim to a certain extent.

If we want him then I think we would have to move fast, if Dortmund end up selling Hummels to Barca then I have no doubt that Ginter will be the replacement at Dortmund. Freiburg are a small club so I doubt he would be that pricy either, probably late 7 figures.

I for one would be very excited if we sign him, he's very much an unsung hero at the moment and is due to explode sooner rather than later.

Not even, I'd say they'd take £12m to be honest!

Probably because we don't actually need a striker, at least not as a matter of priority.

Maybe we'll start looking once we've sorted the LB and LW positions, and maybe not.

I'm fine with our strikers.

We're only likely to play one pure striker in Poch's system anyway, Ade is better than nearly anyone we can buy, Soldado deserves a chance and Kane is a great prospect.

If they said 'we're not looking for defenders.' then i'd complain.

And then we can look at CB before we even think about a Striker (which is one position we definitely don't need to upgrade)

If we play next season with our current strikers..............we won't finish in the Top 6.

With the strikers, maybe Poch is playing a slightly cuter game with Levy... What is likely to ingratiate him most to his boss? Asking for a new £25m striker, or getting the best out of the one we signed last summer and getting consistency out of our highest earner?

If he's able to do so, it'll solidify his position with Levy, and perhaps gain him the ability to ask for the bumper signing when the time is right. Just a theory...

Or maybe he's training with the players and realises we have 2 top drawer strikers already and lots of other positions without even 1...

If no striker arrives then that means Levy has settled for 6th/7th

City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool are spending billions and we are lagging behind now unless we get the goals to compete

We have a man with malaria, a split personality and who will disappear to the ANC for weeks/ a man who got like 2 goals in open play last season/ a 20 year old unproven kid

God help us, forget CL this season

Presumably if we are not looking for a striker now then that would be encouragement of Adebayor's prognosis and certainly looks like Poch is giving Kane the thumbs up.

As @S.Mouse! says, we have more pressing needs elsewhere but this absolutely isn't a transfer window for panic buying as we have most of the ingredients here and just needs a manager who knows what he is doing to try and get the very best out of them.

Is there African Nations this season? Think we need another striker if Ade away, even if a youngster like Origi.
