Just been told by an agent for one of ours, that Alli has been sensational so far in training. The senior players all knew he was a talented young player, but none of them expected him to be as good as he is..



Might cause a rethink on our CM transfer priorities?

Nah, we still need a DM after selling Paulinho, Capoue and probably Stambouli.

I would take intelligence over pace ALWAYS.

Personally don't think we've been linked to anyone who's all pace and no intelligence except for maybe Victor Moses.

If Alli's been that good, maybe we look at a more reasonably priced Suarez as opposed to a player in the price range of McCarthy/Kramer... Even though I would hope we would still go for a player like Kramer who could instantly improve our midfield.

I'm excited to see what Alli can do though. Haven't watched him a whole lot so seeing how much he has to his game will be intriguing. I are intrigued.

If Ali is looking further forward than expected, I'd be tempted to write off a permanent CM signing, maybe get someone with a bit more experience (not hard given Bentaleb has a season and a half of 1st team, Mason has less) on loan just to help out, knowing that 12 months down the line, we probably won't need to sell off a midfielder to make way as the loan will expire and Ali can slot straight in having had a season involved but without instant pressure to deliver.
Njie/Ntep for LWF, plus a CF. Job done.

I doubt it, still need an experienced head in the middle for the big games.

I'd thought loan option, maybe we could work something out there, but for the £8m quoted as his release clause, could be a happy medium, as you say, better than the £15m plus McCarthy would cost.

3 days looking good in training does not mean shelve transfer plans and dont bother with the most important position in the team. The guys played league one football only. The prem will be a huge shock to the system

That's the ITK I'm waiting for. Its the most important signing we should be making this summer. The younger talented types, for the attacking positions - its not as crucial they're in for pre season etc. We can get them at the end of the window.
