I'm not overly convinced either, but I think it's important that we sign him to keep Poch happy who clearly wants him. I don't think many would argue that he isn't at least a better option than Sissoko too.

Good perspective. Barkley is at the very least an upgrade on the bench but I hope he will be far more than that. We saw last season that our bench was just not strong enough to move us from contending to winning something, anything

I believe Ben when he says Janssen would be sold if we get another forward.I think he's a player we're happy to keep and give another chance unless we're able to get someone of top quality. I'm actually happy with Kane, Janssen and Son as our attacking options. I'd be more interested in another pacey attacking midfielder just in case Lamela is never the same.

Lets keep doing what we've been doing and signing young players for Poch to develop. I get the feeling Barkley under Poch will reach his potential.

Pleased we are looking for a 3rd striker, but concerned we are putting all our eggs in one Barkley basket as far as an attacking midfielder goes.

Maybe we're not. Wasn't there some ITK yesterday about looking at a couple of German players? There's been a lot of talk about Meyer, who could be the Barkley alternative.

As for CF takkI think both bits of ITK may be right, just a case of perception. Cabinescence says Janssen is staying but we are looking for a 3rd forward. Ben says that if another CF comes in, Janssen is off. Potentially Cabinescence may mean a wider forward like Son who can fill in up top, so less direct completion for Janssen, or else maybe it's going to one of the younger players mentioned as being picked up, who's less of a immediate threat.

This, wouldn't leave without a good offer, or him being desperate to get out due to competition. Maybe Levy could go for a loan option in the case of the latter.

Makes you wonder if the striker will be someone like King who can also do a job wide.

Naturally, there is a price tag for everybody, however, what I'm trying to say is that I don't think the club is indifferent to him staying. I actually believe he is wanted for the next season. Onions, of course.

I was kind of thinking from the players point of view. I think he'll want to leave if we sign another center forward. He finds it frustrating enough playing second fiddle to Kane. Add another in his position and he will leave for first team football. Provided of course a team can match Levys valuation. In that respect I think you're right in that we'll be happy to keep him if such an offer doesn't come in. I do hope he stays though because I think he'll do well this season.

Interesting, I guess Spurs/City want this done quickly. I imagine Spurs want this out of the way so they can announce an incoming or two as I reckon we wouldn't sanction without a replacement.

Hopefully there are incomings to be announced shortly after Walker goes. I could see the media really digging into us for having sold Walker and not having any signings yet. It may be a weekend to avoid reading about footy.

Saw a picture of Pau training with us today even though he's supposed to have gone back to Espanyol. I'd put my money on him being the announcement.
