I'm sure a few well informed people on this site have said we would be prepared to smash the wage barrier if the right player came along so I dare say we would be able to realistically afford the sums bandied around for Rossi, circa 90K a week.

I still dont get it chaps. Why are you all getting boners over Rossi? He's not what we need! We've got VDV who can play that role better that him anyway.

Vucinic is spot on. I'm also intrigued by Papiss Cisse, although I haven't seen much of him.

I agree entirely. Vucinic all the way for me.

Berbs is 7 mill sky are saying, if there was any chance of getting this done we should be on it. With the crazy prices at the moment he'd be a steal.

Better Juve get Berbatov and leave us a clear run on Vucinic and Rossi.

So we're gonna pay Rossi 85k a week?

Twice as easily as paying Adebayor £165k a week.

Hmmm Rossi would be awesome but not getting my hopes up.

Ideal scenario re strikers would be

Defoe out Rossi in
Keane out Vucinic in
Crouch out (possible loan) Adebayor in (loan)

That would be pretty spectacular and also highly unlikely lol

Imagine it would be 2 out of 3 - Vucinic or Adebayor + Rossi.

A pacy last shoulder poacher with devastating movement?

Rossi can play wide, as a #10 or even in midfield, but he and vdV are as alike as Suarez and Gerrard.

Very rare for players to get through a whole season without injury suspension. The more top quality players the better in my view - will give us so much flexibility and different options. Proper competition for places will also raise levels all round.

Absoute rubbish.

Firstly he's not on a lot less - stop believing the crap in the press.

Secondly, the ITK is that Modric will be rewarded if he now committs himself to the club.

Rossi is not a last man type player. He drops into space alot of the time.

VDV was at his best last season when playing as a second forward. You could tell when Harry had told him to stop dropping so far into midfield and his form improved as a result.

VDV is a guaranteed starter, and for me there's only room for 1 striker next to him. That needs to be someone with presence and aerial ability in the box.

Just my opinion of course.

I think I read somewhere about the bonus that Levy offers players... Imagine thats how we got Gallas and also how we could get a Rossi or similar?

Imagine if he is on a healthy goal bonus and good wages would be enough to motivate a move...

Could be a clever move if Luca has a match the highest wage clause...that way you could increase his pay with out it being overtly rewarding him for his hissy fit:shrug:

Can he bring his mate Santi with him. Sorry being greedy.

Graham Hunter linked us with Cazorla in a tweet at the end of last year.

In response to a question about who Spurs would want to buy or take on loan :

"Good question. Spurs already have Pienaar signed. H would buy Cazorla and F Llorente. But a loan??? Drenthe would work. Fabiano?"

its not absolute rubbish mate.Iif we sign any top player likE a rossi he will be on top wage so imo modric should be on more. From what i hear modric cud be on 70k a week before tax and other say 45k a week. I dont give two shites whats he is on on who says what. Th fact of the matter is he should be the top wage earner at spurs no matter who we sign.

70K is alot less than 85 or 86k. modric deserves to be best paid. he's earned it.

A front trio of Vucinic, Rossi and vdV would give us tremendous flexibility, as well as quality:

Vucinic as a #9 or wide left forward

Rossi as a last shoulder or a wide right forward or a #10

vdV as a floating #10, a wide right forward or a midfielder

Awesome.
