With respect, saying we will sign another player in mid July doesn't quite qualify as ITK whoever says it.

He did say a bit more than that, But as the Transfer was 'close' was reluctant to give too many details which we all know why.

he is you know!

JJ called him a good player, which was interpreted as we are more than interested. Grey Fox has now confirmed it is real.

Got to say mate, I can fully understand Carroll being moved on, he clearly has talent, vision, ability and applies himself, but has had many chances now to establish himself but has failed to do so, I think he just lacks that ultimate mentality thing that's required to impose himself on games at times. Mason, even more reluctantly, at a push, I could accept just because I think under Pochettino he's not going to get the chance to play, he's incredibly injury prone and deserves to be somewhere where he can get a chance at regular football and we have players like Winks and Onomah who could one day play his role or something similar.

But Pritchard, unlike those two, has never been given the chance he deserves. He has passed every test with aplomb, player of the season at both his loan clubs (I think) team of the season in the championship for Brentford, the team who played the best football in that division. He has guile, tenacity, an eye for goal and works for the team off the ball.

We can never be sure how a kid will pan out, whether he will grab his chance or get the breaks (or both) but I'd be damn disappointed if he goes without being given a chance, especially when we have signed players like Lamela, Chadli, Son & Njie for over 70m to play in similar areas of the pitch.

there is a chance it's Pritchard's camp pushing for a move to get regular football, which is something Poch can't guarantee

Batshuayi got heavily touted for Palace in the media before ending up at Chelsea. Wonder if this NKoudou stuff is an attempt to smoke out some extra bidders.

They share an agent

Sounds about right. Seems unusually open for us, unless things have already been signed and this is the news playing catch up.

Except that JJ's basically confirmed it.

Don't know enough about Nkoudou to make an informed judgment, other than opinion based on the obligatory YouTube watch after this mornings media links kicked off.
Not quite sure he was the type of player I was expecting, looks raw, perhaps I was expecting someone a little more polished.
However, I am neither a football scout, manager or coach, so I'll just have to have a little faith in those more qualified to make these decisions.
On a positive note, I'd expect that to be our final 1st team signing, meaning if it comes good quickly, then the squad will get virtually a full preseason. Would like to see Njie given another season, fully fit, to show he can make a difference. I don't like these one year signings, especially in his case he's barely played.

Tbh if grey fox and JJ have been positive about this, it's all I need to know. Add Trix to the mix and it's golden!

We have to accept we are looking for exciting potential with the rawness that comes with it. Back our manager to polish up some gems. We do not have the budget to be paying the kind of fees it would take to bring in established players in large. Shrewd bit of business which I for one am happy about,

Get used to signings like this. Due to the age bracket that Poch has seemingly set for our signings (-25s) we will be signing raw, unproven talents that have been scouted extensively by us. Were not in a position to spend silly amounts of money on any single player, and unfortunately for us, those proven, established players who fall under our age range all cost north of £20m. Expecting 'but, Boufal...' Responses...his attitude apparently stinks.

He said "good player" right?

I'll get myself in trouble at this rate so I'm gonna shut up.

Jair, I actually agree with you . I'm sure JJ has also stated that Messi is a "good player" at some point in the past, but I very much doubt that meant we were signing him.

Although it is likely that JJ was (indirectly) suggesting this little rumour is true, I don't see as you've done anything wrong by saying he hasn't really said anything that suggests this is a done deal.
