The CL stuff was discussed in here yesterday, then someone else wants to know so it's being discussed again today.

It would be best for everyone if a thread on the subject were started in Spurs Chat so that tomorrow's threepeat might be avoided.

Here you go:

"YOU KNOW WHAT WILL BE DISAPPOINTING IS:
IF ARSENAL PULL KAKA!
IF FALCAO SIGN FOR A SPANISH TEAM! (although he is not in my sig but those two are born again christians - BLESSINGS!)
IF WE MISS OUT ON DIARRA"

"Its 11.40pm in Mauritius. Tomorrow is the 16th August. I expect a signing by then. Someone has to make up his mind!
Night all - COYS"

I'm not sure if Ackie is a confirmed ITK, but it's interesting stuff.

Kind of sounds depressing the stuff in caps

The rules are pretty clear. If any player plays in the play-offs (that's where we join Europa and where we joined the CL last year) or group stages of EITHER Europa or CL then they are cuptied for both competitions for the whole season. No ambiguity at all there.

This is certainly what happened with Pav, but have the rules been changed since?

What happened with Pav?

I've downloaded the latest .pdfs from the UEFA website, so I'm pretty sure they are current rules.

Ackie said a player would make his decision today. He also said the two Christians are Kaka and falcao but never said it was one of these two who would decide. I think anyway.

We can guess about the identity of Ackie's Christian player until the cows come home, it's a bit Blue and Yellowey for me, although I doubt he meant it to be so. What is almost certainly going to happen is that there is a difference between making your mind up (no, we're not signing Bucks Fizz) and a deal being done, so lets not expect any announcement today.

Isn't Ackie's 'making your mind up' comment likely to be about Adebayor?

Or diarra. Something's definitely not right with that whole transfer. I know this could be delayed due to palacios.

Has anyone been on the Stoke forums recently to see what their itks say is going on?

Isnt Eto really religious too?

Right lads, we better nip this one in the bud right now. As if people starting reeling off lists of Christian players this thread will get locked quicker than Houdini can kidnap, bind and ball-gag someone (and believe me that is fast, I have the rope burns and night-terrors to prove it).

or it cold just be his speculation and referring to the supposed Redknapp/Levy split? One of them has to make a decision quickly as to which striker we go all out for

(however I prefer your theory to mine)

Eto'o was a Christian but I believe he converted to Islam - I may be wrong but I seem to remember reading it somewhere.

For the record I do not study footballer's religious beliefs I just have one of those brains that is good at storing useless crap.

Stop all the Eto talk. He said the two Christians are Kaka and Falcoa end of story no need to keep guessing.

Why are people worried about players' religions all of a sudden?

I don't think we are, but the info Ackie posts seems to be linked to Christian players.

Then again may-be we just want to be sure we're praying to the right person if we're trying to get a message through.

This. Why are we talking about Christians?

He said Falcao and Kaka were Christians (for whatever reason) then in a separate post said someone needs to make their mind up.

Unconnected n'est pas?

Also as A&C says someone making their mind up doesn't mean 'imminent signing' so let's all keep our wangers in our wanger-holders for now.

Kaka and Etoo, bloo and yalla and both Christians..

I can see it now, all agreed, bar the wages - they want £250K per week we can only pay £45K per week.

Anyway at least we tried, now lets go back in to Phil Neville on deadline day...hes a triffic little player, should keep Luka and Gareth happy.

I like levy in a man love non homo way. We have as a club put in the groundwork to really sustain a challenge over the next decade to be one of the UKs top top teams and therefore one of europes top top teams.

Not worried about cash clubs like CHavs or CHitty because they cannot buy every top top player.

In retrospect there are only 2 things in recent times that have had a impact on our future and both of these involve our Strikers. Berbatov & Jan 11.

Having said all that we don't need "names" but it would be good (but by no means terminal if we didn't) to improve in Defence, Wing & StrikerS...

So in retrospect looking at the ITK even now we are looking in those areas and Levy HAS a track record that is to be admired.

I really appreciate the itk and if we could somehow timeline them I'm sure it would make more sense to many but for now it very positive we are a good team with few real threats - how great that feels

please don't ban me if this is considered off topic I feel it wasn't but happy to be corrected...
