This thread is largely full of opinion; mostly heat, little light; so take this in that context. The intentions at the start of the window were: 1. Hold on to the stars. 2. Sell the Dross. 3. Buy adequate upgrades. Levy understandably (and rightly imo) gave Chelsea the reaction they deserved when they came knocking. Now, less than two weeks before the end of the window Levy and HR realise that they won't be selling who they want to sell because either nobody is interested at their prices and/or because the players themselves don't fancy the move that is being suggested. And in turn, they won't be able to bring in the required quality to bring us to where we want to go. So a rethink is needed on the Modric decision. And HR's comments yesterday were the start of a public recognition that maybe a deal could be done.

......backed into a corner by people like friggin Bentley & Do Santos, sheesh!! :bang:

Steve Porker.
Daniel Sty-ridge
Gregor Swinesson
And from Barcelona, the ex-United centre half:
Gerard Streakee' (Pique)

Yeah, I know. If you have to explain it, it's a bit shit. Still, Swinesson was good.

POTL stated that Diarra was done 2-3 weeks ago. Still sure of that 100% record?

Harry is freely talking about Diarra who has no squad number at RM. Fancy POTL's chances on this one and his shout on Adebeyor. So with that in mind I'm inclined to believe him and DL regarding Modric.

My feeling is Harry is playing games with Chelsea.

Love how these "usually" reliable ITK are suddenly talking shit when it comes to Modric maybe leaving. But if they come out hinting Falcao, Higuain, Rossi, Llorente could be on their way, they're taken as gospel.

Baffling

So the best way to get to where we need to go is to sell our best player and likely not get a replacement?

Not buying it.

haha exactly mate.. first thing that leapt off page when reading it.. we cant buy anyone so the answer is have re think and to sell modric for big money haha.. yeah right

Nick knows.

Did he?

Or did he merely state "deal", which could mean any number of things had been agreed such as personal terms, or a deal with RM.

What has POTL stated which has not come to fruition without any backup?

Do you really question his info?

Didn't he once say that Micah Richards was going to be a Spurs player?

You can hang on his words all you like, but he also posted:

Hello Pocket Dynamo

POTL is not the messiah.

Let's be honest, to say 'arry wants Adebayor and Diarra is not ITK. It's been banded in the press and media for over a year hasn't it? Well at least a liking to them has

Baffling

People believe what they want to hear.

Fact is the majority of the rumours posted by ITKS apart from peanut and POTL are usually rubbish fantasies.

Where is that storm again?

If Archie is on the money be prepared for a depressing 2 weeks. If we sell Modric that still isn't enough to free up squad places for Harry's 4 signings.

Went night fishing and just got up, what do I wake up to? The wonderful "arry in the press again, a fucking gain!

I want the man out of my club. Just had enough of his constant need to talk to the press.

How about we all sing from the same hymnsheet harry and show a united front? No, that's to fucking much, "we could probably buy 3 or 4 players with the Modric money" really? really harry? We haven't been able to buy any players for 3 windows, how are we going to magically sell our best player and buy 3 or 4 players in 2 weeks?

I've had enough........

Makes perfect logic. The problem I find is i think Levy is asking way too much for the dross which in turn is affecting point 1 and point 3. He can't have his cake and eat it I'm afraid

Dos Santos will end up at Seville and I doubt any one wants Bentley or he would go... try Crouch, Palacios etc...

Modric to anyone other than Chelsea please god... would even rather he went to Arsenal than Chelsea...

I don't buy it either. Like Levy would sanction 1 out (Modric) and say 4 in, when we're already over-quota with the squad.

Might be, make them think they have a shot at Modric, hoping they don't pursue other options. :p

Oh dear, if there is any truth to it.

This is the result of buying too many average players who are on more money than they actually should be given their talent and the irony being our prudence with wages. Moreover we cant pay the big bucks but have managed to accumulate a bloated squad which sees some players paid well with the realisation that their contracts at Spurs are as good as they'll ever get. No wonder we have problems shifting them.

So selling Modric helps do what initially? Does Modric count for 3-4 spaces in our 25 man squad.

So the new 're think' plan is to sell Modric because we cant sell anyone else and bring 4 players in...hmmm.

That is a problem. To sanction in effect three new players we have to sell four or five. We clearly aren't able to do that atm.
