This thread is largely full of opinion; mostly heat, little light; so take this in that context. The intentions at the start of the window were: 1. Hold on to the stars. 2. Sell the Dross. 3. Buy adequate upgrades. Levy understandably (and rightly imo) gave Chelsea the reaction they deserved when they came knocking. Now, less than two weeks before the end of the window Levy and HR realise that they won't be selling who they want to sell because either nobody is interested at their prices and/or because the players themselves don't fancy the move that is being suggested. And in turn, they won't be able to bring in the required quality to bring us to where we want to go. So a rethink is needed on the Modric decision. And HR's comments yesterday were the start of a public recognition that maybe a deal could be done.
