It's not done yet. We need some bolstering in that central defensive area. We need defenders who can work in an aggressive formation, defend well and cover behind them. We'll be looking to bring in a couple in that area in the coming days.

“Cover behind” would seem to be a direct reference to having pace. Can’t see Lenglet being an option in that case and Dier won’t get much of a look in. Davies (if he stays) can only ever be a LB back up.

I think the Ange comments are being seen to reflect the number of CBs not just VDV.

Could be interesting to bring in another CB (aside from VDV) but that would require some real fast outgoing movement from our surplus

Still talking nothings been fully agreed but it’s close . Further discussions were held yesterday. It’s in Daniels hands now . Kane camp waiting for the green light it’s not the easiest deal to do as phase Kane has to be pulled off aswell. If all goes to plan it’s more then likely he’s going however if spurs don’t get their house in order it will most likely fall through. We are kinda at that .

It’s at a critical stage atm I would say it’s 50/50 but it’s more ahead his bags are being packed will he grab his boarding pass and passport on the way out haha

Well, that's intriguing. Obviously we shouldn't just let Kane leave without something in place to make up the difference, but given our past it's encouraging that we've got to this point and do have some plans in place.

And, of course, the possibility that it could all still fall apart because we can't get the necessary deal(s) across the line.

Or you could argue that the transfer is almost bound to fall through now because - true to form - we most certainly won't have our house in order.
I would be delighted if it did and Kane stayed with us for at least another year. He alone is the difference between a Champions League push and mid-table mediocrity.

I read WLB not as we're half way to a deal, we're way past that but 50/50 which way the last knockings go.

There's been a tonne of ITK, alot came last sunday, I especially remember Herc saying "Bye Bye" late sunday before the infamous monday meeting. Then different ITK came out monday morning etc etc.

I love our ITK's so not trying to shit on anyone at all, but the constant change in 70/30's 50/50's etc is just the information they are given and sharing at the time, so when you look at it like that, it must be a really fucking confusing situation in general when the people IN THE KNOW are getting different and conflicting information every day for the last week.
