Don't see Liverpool loaning Carroll to someone they consider a rival

If they were going to let Carroll come to us it would only be on a perm and probably not less than 20m

If we can't get Ade or similar quality or better for whatever reason we could do worse than him but I would only consider him as a last resort

we are not a rival for 8th!! ;)

peanut was around before Harry was manager.

It's rare that an ITK gives up the badge, so you have to give big ups to both Dan and Ryan. As far as I can remember (and there may be others) they are the only two to walk away like an honorable old cowboy in a Spaghetti Western (y)

And I'm not suggesting that Peanut should or would.....this is a statement about them as a whole

If Carroll isn't deemed good enough for Liverpool then he isn't good enough for us. I hope anyway.;)

It's more he is deemed not to fit their style. Rodgers presumably is playing a passing game rather than route 1.

So we can combine these two to say

If Carroll isn't deemed to fit the new passing style for Liverpool then he isn't going to fit our new passing style. :)

I think a lot of these players seem to get into trouble in the smaller cities...Leeds, Liverpool etc. London's more cosmopolitan, and a learning curve of life and experience in itself. A lot of our party boys from up North like Lennon, Thudd, Jenas settled down here really well.

I don't think they're as exposed in London/Essex as they are in smaller Northern cities that are no where near as used to "celebrity". Carroll would be a fawned after superstar in Newcastle, but a relative unknown compared with the A-list in London. This seems to keep them more grounded.

i think he could be a good signing..main reason being, his next move rteally is shit or bust for him

There's been no ITK for ages.

IMO this is a sure sign that something HUGE is about to happen. All the ITKs have been shut down, all staff at WHL/The Lodge have been locked in until the deal is complete, total media blackout. JJetset said we were on the verge of something mindblowing - Messi isn't realistic, but perhaps Iniesta's on the cards. Or maybe even Grant Holt!!!

I think he would be a disaster because he's just not that good

He's a decent player, got over hyped via a good season in the Championship and a decent half season in the PL with Newcastle and Liverpool made a crazy offer for him that far surpassed his actual worth.

He's a good player, just not a great player and he was over hyped. His next move won't be shit or bust because he is still an effective PL level striker he will just return to his level (and I guess be happy for the money he made while Liverpool fell for his hype)

He's not a top 6 striker but he would be good for probably any team below that level and any team that plays long balls and wants a Ducan Ferguson style player to make waves and bully defenders.

Not good enough for us and wouldn't suit our style, over hyped and over priced but if Liverpool and Carroll himself accept his realistic value I have no doubt he will go on to be a decent PL striker in a midtable outfit, I am sure he would be great at an Aston Villa or Stoke for example.

What he isn't is a £35m world class striker or the new Alan Shearer, he is the rebirth of Duncan Ferguson in my eyes and that means while he's not a superstar he is a decent striker who can and will be effective in the right team.

Was he always ITK? strange how the ITK from him has dried up as he is always spot on
Always had the impression his source was Levy/Board related. His ITK tends to confirm or deny rumour rather than come out with something off his own back or indeed something he wasn't sure of. Top ITK, and not one you are going to see posting info daily like others, but when it comes you can be sure it's gospel.

I think if Arry were still in charge he would be pushing for it, plenty of quotes regarding how he is a triffic lad, not sure where the chairman is regarding him but it's someone we like etc etc

Would I take him for £13m? I think so to be honest. There is a decent player in him somewhere. Not sure he would fit AVB's style though.

Would be frikin hilarious if we bagged him for £22m less than the bin dippers did and he started banging them in!

Really depends on what the passing style is.

If it's tippy tappy all the way until the ball's walked over the goal-line then Carol Andrews is never going to fit that system.

If it's passes played at pace to the corners and then searching crosses into the box, Carol's a good player to have on the end of them.

I wouldn't be hugely enamoured with having him sign, but he's a much better player than he was able to show last season. He's pretty damn good at one thing, and Dalglish decided not to play that way. Fecking stupid IMO, and ultimately it got him booted.
