Just a couple of bits that people might have missed from later last night/early this morning.

A poster on here (sorry, can't remember who it was) tweeted JJ about Hulk, and JJ replied "don't do it to yourself" (or something like that). Seems that JJ sees it as a non-starter.

Also Storts on COYS posted "Ade is ours." Not sure what the context of it was or whether he means it's done or is set to be completed, but thought it might be worth a mention.

Hopefully this is on-topic but is anyone aware of the potential back-up list of targets IF Lloris & Moutinho aren't signed?

It seems most of the ITK is to do with these two.

i don't see the sense in spending as much on moutinho as we sell Modric for. no where near as good. A miserable Modric is still better than Moutinho. I hope the decision makers agree.

Storts has good connections & I think that Ade is done but just dotting the Is & crossing the Ts with Man Sh*tty. As for JJ saying about Lloris & Moutinho I think there is definitely room for maneuverability as he doesnt completely right the transfors off ala Hulk.

Nice one Spurg. :)

I'm trying not to get caught up in the ebb and flow of the mood in here but I am beginning to get twitchy about strikers.
I don't mind Mouts and Hugo dragging in a bit as it appears as though they both want to come but we do need to sort out the options up front.
Ade is good but the other decent, and available options, seem few and far between.
We can cope in the short term with our gk and cm options but we lack any real depth up top.

However, I'm sure that avb and DL are working hard to get things done.

@jetsetyid would AVB need to bring his coaching staff just to talk to Sandro?

The original JJetset@jetsetyid
@BobParkinson Nope.....

So maybe, just maybe there's something in it.

EDIT: Forget it, memo to self: read to the end first

@jetsetyid indeed. Interesting he took the scout and fitness guy with him. Obviously could just be catching up and meeting Sandro.

The original JJetset@jetsetyid
@nickmunchies Hmmmm I think so too......

Whatever the reasons I doubt JJ or any ITK would/should say as it could be seen as blatant tapping up.

Didn't Storts also say something to JJetset along the lines of "quite a few things are going wrong"?

Yeah he did. Something to do about things being all positive and now not. But I'm not sure if this was aimed at anyone in particular.

People will read what they want to read. To be honest I think it'd be more likely he'd take his staff with him to meet an existing key player than to talk to a transfer target. Why take the fitness coach and scout along to chat someone up about joining the club? You'd do that with the chairman or club secretary. Sounds as if he was just introducing himself to Sandro to me.

If they are, they're keeping very, very quiet about it.
Indeed and let's not start a guessing game on backup options, or Stoof and A&C will castrate us and our children!

I am convinced AVB an DL have a plan in place for the squad an how the team will shape up, but the news that our primary targets are not exactly going to plan (other than Siggy and Verts of course) is a little to close to the side of "uh oh" than i would like.

Would obviously prefer Ade, Moutinho and Lloris all done before the tour of the US, but that is looking very very unlikely (perhaps Ade might sneak through).

The other factor on Ade that should not be forgotten is the African Cup of Nations. We simply CANNOT afford to only have Ade on our books as the 1 top striker. It would be suicide of the highest order as we KNOW there is a good chance he is off for a period of at least a month. Let alone other periods due to fatigue, form or injury.

We need another top or close to top striker and to be rotating. So we have to assume that this is somehow in the works too, though whether that's Leandro or anyone else is a guess that belongs elsewhere eh...!?!

In general though the ITK has been quiet, yes sources have likely changed etc... but ever since the flurry of info just before AVB signed things have generally cooled off and shock horror, all those dates mentioned failed to materialise eh! ;)

Here's hoping JJ or someone else hears something more positive over the next few days, think the lad himself needs a pick-me-up after sticking his neck out a little on the RM player and becoming the bearer of bad news for a change.

The Twitter Thread is closed for half a morning so that you all calm down and realise that it's not a place to spam the high hell out of.

It's a place to post informative (and not bullshit) Twitter - which, to be honest, means it shouldn't be a 100 page-a-day affair.

Couldn't AVB have bought his staff along to enquire about Sandro's fitness and what they are doing in the Brazil squad and how that fits in with our training?

A friend has been emailing me this morning as he went to a Graham Roberts dinner evening a couple of weeks ago and wrote me the following things. Take with a pinch of salt, i'm not claiming to be "ITK", or is he, just what Roberts was saying...

I went to an Evening with Graham Roberts the other week and found out some interesting information regarding the mighty Spurs.
Apparently, the reason Bale has signed a new contract (100k a week) is because he has been told there is significant investment coming into the club. This is also apparently why we will be able to afford Adebayor.

Allegedly a consortium is going to be buying out Daniel Levy's controlling stake in the club and there are also going to be naming rights on White Hart Lane, the existing stadium not the new stadium and this is supposedly worth millions and millions.

Interesting stuff.

He also said that AVB had the job about 12 days before it was announced and he had been planning during that time which is probably why Bale signed just before AVB was announced and also why Gylfi Sigurdsson signed on the same day that AVB was unveiled????
He also shed light on the Redknapp sacking. Apparently Levy and Redknapp fell out in January because Redknapp wanted Tevez and Gary Cahill but Levy would not sanction either deal because of the costs. Probably explains why we ended up with Nelsen and Saha!!!!!!
Then when Redknapp was saying it was up to the chairman re his new contract to the TV cameras it wasn't quite true. The last straw was allegedly when Redknapp text Levy demanding a new contract be sorted out whilst Levy was burying his mum. That was the last straw.

Please don't shoot the messenger :)

I really would prefer of course to have another (top) striker in place, but we could actually operate with Defoe there for a couple of weeks imo, or even VDV. Of course this will all change if, as the ITK has suggested, Defoe may be off to 1 of 4 places. I would seriously hope the club have some plans in place though if this happens, and ITK suggest that we are trying tbf.

Quite a few suggest that Defoe is not an option - imo he is a very good back up option. He certainly is not a disaster.

*Thought I'd slip a couple of ITK's in there...;)

I was with you right up until this bit. I'm not sure Harry could operate a speak 'n' spell, let alone send a text.
