You lot do know the window hasn't closed yet, right?

Why not save the judgements and hand wringing until then. Fucking hell, it's like someone in the trenches shooting themselves before they've even gone over the top.

I don't know if anyone blew the whistle yet but some have definitely gone over the top already.
They're currently running round in circles in no man's land, shouting at clouds!

There’s one or two with pencils up their noses and underpants on their heads going “wibble.”

Two days is standard issue for end of season hand wringing practice. Herc kindly gave us the heads up that we are talking James and Traore here so we could make an early start.

From following this thread for years, sentiment usually dips by now, with the ITK getting less optimistic, the links to superstars drying up. It's quite natural, as there are fewer days for us to get what we need, and we shift towards more realistic targets.

This window is quite different, for me at least. For the first time in forever, we have seen a clear direction in our purchases - moving away from primarily buying players with market potential (either cheap punts, expensive young stars or players that for some reason are sold below their market value) to primarily players that can actually play in our managers system. Not a black to white shift, but I think you can see a difference in our focus.

We can always do more, but we should appreciate the leap we have made, both on the actual players and in the shift in strategy.

I do miss the old days of names coming in left right and centre. The optimism, despair and then the late possible signing that just fails at the end! All we’ve had today is the endless loops of the rights and wrongs of signing Adama and James and not forgetting the doom and gloom if either signs! Bring on the next two days!

Awesome, big fan of a little dopamine hit of hope to really make that low lower in a couple of days, let's go

We are still looking to bring players in. It's not doom and gloom time just yet.
If nothing else happens then it isn't anywhere close to doom and gloom. It has been a fantastic window. It is obvious we didn't get some of our preferred targets, but for once I can say that is wasn't for lack of trying.

This, for me. Unfortunately our prime targets have been the crown jewels of prestigious clubs and they're the hardest to pry out. Bastoni, Zaniolo etc. ostensibly fans of the club or local boys. We've done great business and are better for it and I have more faith that Paratici will revisit the situation in January if we need to than I've ever felt about Jan windows before. If we can bed in Bissouma and Lenglet and they work as intended then I'm sure that the window looks a lot better than it does when neither of them have really kicked a ball in anger.

Players plural? Or just different options in one position? Sorry has that been clarified
