For what it's worth, the main Portuguese newspapers said that Benfica people were in London to have talks about selling Gaitan to a PL club.

I thought Salvio had a high chance of going to Valencia and I can't see why Gaitan would go to United with them signing Depay...

You never know...

I bet they have third-party ownerships though.

Probably why they are being sold. 3rd party ownerships are banned from this month. All 3rd party agreements have to be disclosed to Fifa including their duration. Owners probably want to cash in.

@Young Nasty Man Not sure why you rated this creative. Here's an article explaining it.

Just to clarify. That is there will be no new 3rd party ownership deals from this month. The ones already in play will be allowed to run out or the owners will cash in. Expect a lot of movement.

When I heard compatriots I was immediately thinking Germans because that was the mass link I could remember of ITK.

Plus one from awhile ago about bringing in someone along the lines of Wimmer, but he's Austrian.

Aren't third-party ownerships banned nowadays?

They are but if i am not mistaken there was a period of time that the teams had to effectively settle the player who were still in a 3rd party ownership issue. (think it is before next season) so the player is only owned by the team.

Would make it so some teams may just sell a player with 3rd party ownership rather than having to negotiate the fee(s) themselves.....

No. Any agreements currently are allowed to run their course. All 3rd party ownerships will have to be registered with Fifa and their expiry date. This means that when they sell they will also have to pay full tax.

Well....that would make sense. Cheers for the clarification.

Salvio would be absolute class transfer. Probably we need to get rid of Lennon/ Paul/ Townsend first.

Hopefully get some bidding wars going for them. Lennon has done well at Everton. Townsend an England international and Pauly is a Brazilian international. Hopefully with the new tv money coming in the clubs will be ready to spend. Add Capoue Ade, Soldado, Chiriches, Stambouli, Carroll to the list and we might have enough money to bring in a few players.

Salvio is a young, pacey, right-footed RM (so not an inverted winger) who has scored 13 goals this season and got 11 assists. Essentially, he looks like exactly what we need. If he's hard-working as well, then he's perfection.

What do you think, @DaSpurs?
