IMO: Those of you who are okay with not bringing in a striker are simply Levy sympathizers.

No! It's about understanding that January is a rubbish month for transfers. Prices are inflated! The right players arent available. Look at the market, it's pretty much dead except for the panic-buying shitey teams hoovering up what they can to survive.

I think Poch does see Son as a capable backup, but he is certainly better on the wing, he isn't a true striker.

I completely agree with not bringing in a player to just bring in a player. But, we've lacked this backup through 2 windows now. We most certainly have had the time to appropriately identify players that "tick the boxes" for a backup striker. It's an incredible failure to go into the final stretch of this season with Kane as our only proper striker. We are still in 3 competitions, all of which we have been fielding strong squads in (minimal rotation). We are running a very high risk of burning Kane out. It's unacceptable, and an incredible failure by the club.

I'd certainly like another ('the right striker') striker in - and was vociferous when one wasn't brought in last TW which IMO was a bit of a cock up....but hadn't been expecting Son or Clinton to join, so to some extent things evened out. .

This TW every striker we've been linked with as back up to Kane has either played in the FA Cup or Europe (or both) so they would not be able to play in FA Cup or EL for us.

Which in turn means if we brought one in to play many games, Kane would need to be playing in a lot of the cup games and rested for PL (the most important competition).........which means unless the right striker is available (and I'd include Dembele in that - clearly looked at as a long term purchase rather than this season), I can see why the club prefers to wait again until summer TW and rely on Son/Chadli/Clinton.

We didn't sign a striker last window despite it being obvious we needed one, we haven't signed one this window. I'm not 100% confident we will sign one in the summer either. Let's wait and see.

Just read that Andre Arshavin is available from Krasnodar - come on Levy, it'll be worth it to bring him on as sub in the NLD for the last 5 when we're 4-0 up.

What does it take for it to be Levy's fault?
The BSoDL handbook is 157 pages long and all it says, line after line is "It's never Levy's fault", oh, apart from the very last two lines where it says "He did have hair once you know" and "He's 0.01cm taller than the legal threshold for a dwarf" (In his high heels).

Mr Pink asked Trix if the sign was meant to mean it's something to keep an eye on. Trix responded with a winner rep.

Just a bit of clarification while I have a couple of minutes. Thought this was dead, but am told we have been given some encouragement that a deal could still be done.

Am told we haven't yet given up on either bera or MD2

In the Berahino thread

Could be a wind up from Pearce though

So does the ITK mean we might have had other targets but Pochottino preferred to leave it and wait until the Summer?

Trix put this icon :peeking: in the Berahino thread, my first thought was its a lock, and to lock the thread. However, it could be a sight/target on a rifle, indicating, as Gards also said, we have other targets.
There's a striker being quite openly put up for sale today, all over the media, fellow national Pochettino... But no ITK on him, unfortunately, so never mind.
I would be very happy if we got the player you allud to, but as there has been no ITK on him I shall not discuss this here. I was also unsure on the symbol used. Despite the AP loan I just can't see SB moving anywhere this window.

Going by past windows, I'd say we'd need to hear something particularly concrete before 5.30 for anything to get done, be it Berahino or otherwise.
