Interesting post, but would Mitchell have access to all that data now? i remember readimg once he developed a software program for Southampton to analyse players

As he developed his software for Southampton surely Southampton own the intellectual property on it and he would have to restart from scratch here?

That would be the official line ... In the same way that absolutely no-one downloads critical documents or banks of contacts before they move jobs.

Pretty much said we don't want him if I remember correctly.

As far as I remember JJ said it would be a very complicated deal to do so I'm sure we have explored the possibility. He also suggested at one point last week we were considering getting another CB in this window.

SSN on it now too.

JJ pooh-poohing TA is clearly a device for getting Atletico to lower their asking price, because we all know the Atletico hierarchy are avid JJ twitter followers and are on here making fish puns most Thursday evenings.

Well played DL. Well played. (y)

He did but as with all ITK info its relevant at the period of time. If things change then that's no fault of the ITK, its just what happens. :)

Yeah fair enough I get it that things change all the time but a flat no suggested to me that he was not on our radar at all as jj usually keeps information close to his chest unless he is sure

Especially as Southampton are owned by a lawyer, i would be surprised if they did not put in certain clauses in his release agreement regarding this software, at least for a period of 12 months, of course he could make a copy but if there are legal clauses then probably unwise to

Without wishing to get into a "I know about restrictive covenants in employment contracts" argument, I will just say ... I know about restrictive covenants in employment contracts.

He'll be fine. Even with legal clauses around. (y)(y)

He also said it was too complicated and not for twitter, which very much suggests we were/are interested. I have a suspicion that the "complications" may have a Chelsea stink about them.

Didn't think about that. Apparently Chelsea have turned down player exchange offers from them for Filipe Luiz however and only want cash.

So "sky sources" say we're to hold talks with Atletico and beleive it's about TA, and ITK says we're interested in Suarez, so I'd assume sky are right about the talks but wrong about the player.

Ah, so not just an ITK forum hero, you are an actual ITK! (y):)

As I work in the tech world, even if he sticks by his contract, and doesn't take a line of code from Southampton - the software can still be recreated quickly as the concepts and algorithms have already been worked out. In fact with more resources this can be an opportunity to create in a better way.

Also, I'm not sure on his own level of technical proficiency, and whether the 'black box' software was created in house or by external consultants - and whether some of it uses off the shelf software libraries. I doubt he and his team did everything, otherwise he wouldn't be working for just one club, he'd be running a company like prozone for all clubs and raking it in - therefore he should be able to gather the same or similar help this time around.

My thoughts too.
Why is DL out there if not to sort out a transfer.

Just maybe there are 3 possibilities. YK, TA and MS.

I'd hazard a guess this is Sky just playing catchup again, and their 'sources' are a few days behind. If JJ said its not happening or it could take weeks to sort, then this is nothing.

Maybe, but lets not forget that Sky sources were quicker than any of our ITK, (poor POTL) over the Willian debacle.
