All sounding good. Although I can't help being left feeling that if we bring in Dave, Serge, Sess and Ross we've bought good players but haven't really addressed the actual weaknesses that needed addressing. ie we still have no one with pace who can go past people, and we're still one Kane injury away from being completely screwed.

Kane missed quite a bit of last season didn't he???? But what if Eriksen or Alli missed large chunks of this season?

I like our business/potential business....RB, RS to add cover/competition to CE, Alli, Son....an upgrade on the bench last season. Sanchez to beef up the defence even more and allow Dier to concentrate on the midfield position he craves. Aurier to replace Walker and Gazza is what he is, 3rd choice keeper.

So I can see the logic in all these potential signings and also I can see exactly how they are a Poch type of player which suggests to me the Owner and manager are firmly in tune. Happy days!

we scored the most goals in the league with Son as our only pacey player, and with Kane being out injured twice.

the second time he was out we still played really well with Son stepping up. Earlier in the season it was harder without him because the other attackers weren't in the best form.

that being said, I'd love a pacey player if one is available.

The Ryan Sessegnon transfer fascinates me. Primarily because he clearly seems very gifted and the prospect of what Pochettino could mound him into is exciting. However, I'm equally intrigued at where he ends up as there seems to be synergies with Bale insofar as left wing back seems obvious but he clearly has an eye for goal based on some of his performances for Fulham last season.

Having a wing back who could chip in with more goals than most could help over the length of a season. It's become a massive position of late and he has the perfect toolset for LWB.

IF we do bring the 3 mentioned in, I think Levy and co will have earned our trust when calling for patience in future. I'd certainly retract some of my 'stick or twist' rants on ambition from the quiet period...
and the pundits who were writing us off all window can go f themselves, would be nothing new for Merson.

These signings would be great and would leave us with a fantastic defensive base. But I just feel like we are still lacking something in the forward area.

We NEED a striker or wide forward.

You should be careful where you sling your 'obviouslys' because you could end up looking like a complete mug :D

Not that you'd stand out in here :playful:

True! Although I doubt we're in for a more high profile attacking player than Martial. Would love to stand corrected though!

JJ reiterating what Hercules already said then regarding Martial. We have a lot of irons in the fire its good to see. ITK was right all along

Delighted with JJ updates...These proposed incoming in itself upgrades last season squad comfortably. Would be great to have a pacy forward but if we don't get the right player, am comfortable with options we have

Nice updates from JJ, good reading while having my morning poop. Barkley and Aurier would leave us with monstrous depth across all positions and Sessegnon would give us yet another youngster to be excited about.

Martial I think we all know is a pipe dream but it's good to see they are going for him (and Balde before). We don't nessecarily need that type but it would be th cherry on the icing on the cake!

I think the fact that they've clearly done homework on Balde and Martial shows we're serious about filling that position, who knows if a third iron might not jump out of the fire by deadline day.

If we can get Sessegnon, Aurier, Barkley (and Foyth) in addition to Sanchez this would have to be the most impressive window we've had. Quite brilliant really, whilst hopefully only losing Walker. The squad will look brilliant for 3-4-2-1 and still very strong in the 4-2-3-1.

Fingers crossed we can get it done, and keep an eye out for any opportunistic developments on the attacker front (likely sacrificing Janssen if so).

Well I am all in for bringing them. But we need one quality attacker for this window to be the most impressive we ever had. Because that's where the depth issue comes in

Pretty sure that barren spell in october of last year gave Poch food for thought. He must be pursuing someone else too

I politely disagree.

I think we desperately need that type.

Honestly if we sign

Sanchez
Foyth
Sessgeon
Gazzaniga
Aurier
Barkley

We have no right to complain that's an insane window just for potential talent monstourous

Agreed! I and others wanted a pacey wide forward but if not possible then we just play 3-4-2-1 more often and the width comes even more from our full backs so fine.

Our goals scored in our last 2 games of the season skew that stat ever so slightly. Up to that point we were the 3rd highest scorers.

Oh Lord am i in the Itk thread...sorry A&C.

Would be unreal. But poch said he wanted 4 so perhaps he's not counting foyth and the GK? otherwise surely he'd have said he wanted 6... exciting times let's see... COYS
