I'm with Nuno on this, i personally "love" Traore, so would be happy if we splashed some cash on him. He is a typical Tottenham player that gets you off the seat although with some screaming at the TV cous of his lack of end product at times. I really feel he can be our Salah, just a talent with no end product that suddenly all turned around in the right environment.

Salah has an amazing end product though. Traore not so much.

A lot of these deals seem to be lined up as Loans with option or obligation. We are potentially setting ourselves with a significant financial commitment for next summer. Are we expecting an influx of cash between now and then?

But he played for this manager before as a bit part player. That’s what confuses me. Why does Nuno want someone who isn’t good enough for whole games and why would he want to play for Nuno and be maybe treated in the same way?
How would Spurs be the right environment?

He didn't though. When Spurs played Basle in the Europa his shots were going everywhere, he showed very little composure. He was younger than Traore is and just because one player shows rapid improvement it doesn't mean Traore would but players can improve. Antonio is playing now and has improved at a very late stage of his career.

That's not entirely correct.

Season 18/19 he started to improve and whilst he was still inconsistent, he was having big gams. By 19/20 he became a mainstay in the team and was starting to reach another level, he bossed games vs Us, City and many others.

But then COVID hit, and when football returned he struggled to have the same impact. Started to spend more time on the bench.

Therefore I do wonder if he was affected by COVID because he was starting to really hit the next level and become unplayable regularly prior to it. Maybe he just lost his rhythm or maybe losing Jota AND Jiminez effected him and he wasn't on the same page as the new attackers.

Exactly. The value of an Ndombele who will not play a game for us is zero. In fact it’s -£200,000 a week.

Time to cut our losses with that one, if he can be swapped for a competent CM who wants to be here then so be it.
Actually I think its -200k plus 1 beanie a week from Spurs shop

My guess would be that our striker targets have become unavailable, so that frees up funds and squad places for Traore.

When you don't meet the asking price that tends to be the case. Wolves won't do a loan without an obligation to buy for a season as Traore only has two years left on his contract (i believe). It would be madness for them to do that.

Gotta admit our targets are diminishing and getting lower down the lists as the days go by seemingly! Vlahovic & martinez seemingly out of reach, to Traore & French kid who’s being loaned back - hope these aren’t our only 2 ins this week, but i highly suspect they will be.
IF and IMO, if that happens it’s not been a good window.

Are you/have been anticipating a good window. That hasn’t happened in living memory.

Given how much activity we need in terms of getting players out, it is slightly concerning that there's now less than a week to go.

I'm telling myself that the lack of links to players potentially coming in is because we're just good at plugging leaks these days...

2012 - Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Adebayor. It was a superb window and none of them were at elite level yet (or in Adebayor's case had been)

If this window mirrors that then I think we will be ok.

plugging leaks?….. how about Romero? Gollini? Both of those were full of leaks …..

@spursfan77 - someone thought you might like this....
Nuno Espírito Santo keen to sign winger Adama Traoré for Tottenham
…[section about Sarr] “Nothing is signed, but I have a verbal agreement with the president of Tottenham,” Serin said at the weekend.
This guy clearly doesn’t follow Charlie Kane on T*****r.

We need shot of N'Dombele, but we need a creative force in there more than a runner.

normally I would 100% agree with that but if do sign Traore we are going to be playing counter attacking football with pace with an energetic midfield - mind you I can't see why Wolves would want to sell to us and even less so loan him to us

Looked like a promising window a few weeks ago & now it just feels like it’s petering out into one big anti climax
