Modric made to rot in the stands!! I don't think so, Levy is a business man not an idiot

Are you trying to imply that Modric could force a move by sulking? You are very wrong if that is the case!

As has been said on here a thousand times, Mddric will absolutely not be sold this window or even in January.

Wasn't Levy willing to do the same with Berba but he was sold cos Ramos said to leave him go. I know the 2 don't really compare because Berba was in last year of contract (I think) whereas Modric has 5 years to go. Personally it wouldn't surprise me if Levy was willing to leave him rot there.

Actually it has nothing to do about a buisness man,it would be absolutley the right thing to do as Modric was happy to sign a new long time contract has right to moan, refuse to play or anything else to try to enforce a move that goes for any player at any club you make your bed you lay in it. If you have a naughty petulant child you deal with it, i.e sending them to there room, naughty step, corner etc so it doesn't cause an effect with others and as normal the offender noramally comes round pretty quickly you juat have be firm and brave to see through

Agree with both but I can only speak from what I see and so far Modric hasn't given me any concerns as to him not playing his best from what we've seen of him so far. I don't think there is a need to worry about the naughty step just yet

Listen up guys....!

....There's new ITK!

....It's about Modric...!

:shifty:

 :x

I thought as much regarding Modric. That's why I hate it when I hear that 'sources' suggest that we're now willing to sell Modric as if they've heard from Levy themselves. If Levy did for whatever reason decide to tell someone that's his intention I'm sure it would be someone he trusts, who wouldn't leak information to be reported to an internet forum or the media generally.

Yes your quite right but i wasn't just refering to Modirc but footballers in general as theyare like children in a sweet shop, looking at all the bright shiny sweet things that turn their heads, but have pockets stuffed full already and when told no think they can temper tantrum their way to it with no consideration for anything or anyone else barr themselves, espically when
the supporters cough large amounts of there very hard earned wage to keep them in way they think they have a devine right to and we as normal people could only ever dream about let alone become reality .But then it's only my opinion:shrug: so what i do i know - nada

If I had a naughty petulant child I think I would let it leave.

RE Modders, he on the other hand should be made to stay. Maybe Levy can give him one of those 'gentlemans agreements' that he can go next summer if we get a 'suitable' bid.

The way I see it, with the fair play stuff comming in next year we could potentially land some great players (with the big clubs having to trim their squads/wage bills) and it will be much easier to replace him then. This is the year to sneak into the champs league places to really invest next year with that as a carrot.

Anyone else fed up with hearing about the M word? The silence from Levy is a good thing I think, he has said his bit and obviously feels this is well and truely closed.

If only Harry was as silent at times. But good news from dragon saying Levy is sticking to his guns anyway!

levy's not a businessman, he's a business, man.

But i agree with the stance: let the mother rot. We can't be the ones who take a risk and a "bigger team" poach them once it turns out the risk was worthwhile.

This latest ITK is just the same information that was published by various rags the day after the Lev/Modric showdown talks.

IMHO what this tells us to-day is that Levy has not shifted his stance at all on the matter and therefore Modric will remain a Spurs player.

Good news for all concerned.

Modric should be made to stay and honour his contract, he also should be made to understand that signing a 6 year contract doesn't mean you can run off after just 1.

But, If he decides to play up, then Levy should do the right thing for the club, and sell him before he upsets the good feeling at the club.

Controversial? maybe, but no player is bigger than Tottenham Hotspur.

Anyway, back on topic for a mo, the thing that amazes me most about ITK is, they seem to know a lot more than our manager about transfers? When Redknapp talks to the press he always uses the saying " i don't know where we're at with these deals, its in the chairmans hands and he is dealing with it" So i find it difficult to believe what some random person on an internet forum wants me to believe, with this in mind, i am only inclined to believe anything that appears on the OS, anything else until confirmed is just a rumour.

Essnetially.

Modric should be made to stay and honour his contract.

He should also be made to give me 75% of his wages as punishment

As stupid and vocal as Redknapp can be notice that the "chairman is dealing with it" is always his strapline. He rarely admits a deal is done and go back to the time he said he wasn't interested in player x and then player x walked past the window when he was being interviewed. (Can't remember the player or the club he was with at the time). I'd prefer to believe Dragon, Archie, Peanut, POTL etc.. over anything Redknapp comes out with.
