Harry does like Rossi, he's mentioned our interest in him from January and said he was very interested but that we couldn't agree a fee with Villereal. Just because he wants Adebayor more doesn't mean he won't accept Rossi.

More and more I think Harry's planning to shift more to a Barca style formation with amorphous forwards and wing backs, where the forwards cut in as the wing backs get forward, and Sandro drops deep into a defensive three when the full backs are further forward.

Would be amazing, although Walker would probably play in order to give us some width on the right

Depending on which site you read, Adebayor is on between £140k and £170k a week.

For that reason, I'd be very surprised if we signed him.

I'd imagine Rossi and vdV (interchanging) floating out on the right quite a bit. One winger and one forward cutting in is a good balance IMO.

We'd then have the option of Lennon or Walker at RM if we wanted to bring on extra width. I'd never risk Walker at full-back though.

Yet you'd try him in a position that he's never played in before for a prolonged period of time?

Thats a fantastic looking side.

Back to reality for a minute. If there is a chance of Adebayor wanting to come we should go all out for him. Offer City a good deal and lets see if they want to do the business, if they dont want to sell to us - fine, at least we know early and move on.

The point is that Adebayor is exactly the type we need, we should be willing to pay good money for him on that basis. If we do make a serious offer which refects our desire to sign him I doubt they'll receive a better offer for him.

So do they take a good offer for him or refuse on the grounds that they'll be strengthening us?

This is all assuming that we could compromise with personal terms.

If I were Levy I would putting in a big offer for him now so we dont get strung a long.

In truth if Adebayor was our main business for the summer I would pretty darn happy.

I dont believe Jacob's info that Harry is not keen on Rossi, For a start, in a interview with Espn he dismissed the idea of us close to signing a striker but then mentioned he liked rossi and saying he the usual harry talk that he is a finisher, he has the intelligence to hold the ball and can up front on his own (which has done when nilmar is pushed out wide to the right)

He was also pissed off at Levy because the price of Rossi had increased from £16.5million to £35million as Villarreal refused to sell as they could not get a replacement on the last day

Which is a major stumbling block...could we offset some of that by offering a large signing on fee?

Ways and means off massaging the figures so to speak?

Walker was a striker all through his teens at the Sheff U academy. Being a winger should be more natural to him than defending.

There are very few clubs that are able/willing to match this. If City want to move him on they will have to come up with some compromise with the buying club with regard to either wages or reduced fee to make him affordable.

It is in FM world, I just don't understand why you would put an 'on the last shoulder' striker like Rossi on the right or have him playing deeper than what he normally does if you are spending £30m on him.

Not particularly aimed at you Pinky more DA....

This is what I was getting at, and obviously the player himself will have to accept a pretty big drop in wages if he wants to be playing regularly again.

Do me a favour, he's been selected in the England squad as a full back.

You make less sense than DC Boy sometimes.

I see your point for sure. To be honest take Rossi out, and put Lennon in there and its mouthwatering.

I just think Adebayor leading the line would complete this team in every way imaginable.

Aguero has just signed for Juventus for £20m according to talkSport so we can cross him off the list.

I know it sounds silly, but ONLY 20 million??

Edit

Also it was Juventus who were also in for Rossi, so if true, not fussed either way.
