If he doesn't accept this Villa loan deal, he's stuck at spurs with one year left anyway. If he signs for Villa and has a great season (as we know he can) he will earn a big contract elsewhere. At this moment in time, clubs see nothing but an expensive, ageing trouble maker who has had two compassionate leaves in a year.

You are right.

You win.

I can't see him being here at the end of the transfer window - If a permanent deal doesn't get done then I can see him going on loan somewhere in at the end of the TW. Nobody wants him here so it seems but somebody will take him on loan for a year

fucking ade pisses me off so bad. seriously cant wait to get rid of him. berahino as a option sounds decent, at least we know if we get desperate we are still getting a potentially good option. i wonder why we arent trying for reus though. i mean if we are willing to splash 20m then why not use it to activate reus's clause. st, amrlc, pace, trickery, finishing, dude is the perfect option.

Hmmm. There must be a reason we aren't in for Reus...?

Oh yeah, that's it, he'd never fucking come to us.

I don't think so.

I can't speak to their personalities because I don't know them, but I don't think personality is the root of these problems. Heck there's plenty of players on this team who like Ade.

The problem is Ade is on very high wages and is holding us ransom to them. Most players would be more than willing to take the pay cut and get on with proper football and I believe Berahino would as well if it didn't work out.

Not to mention Berahino won't be on Ade level wages in the first place so it would heavily reduce the headache anyway.

The thing is Ade will want a certain wage because he is already earning a certain wage. Rightly or wrongly I think most of us could understand not wanting to go to a new job for less money. Which is why he wants his sweetener. Well, that and because he will be living and working in Birmingham.

Now we can all say that he should just want to play football but let's face it how many modern players care if they aren't playing as long as they get paid a lot? I would say that there are lots of players who are happy to be part of the squad and get the cash.

Is it Ade's fault he earns so much? Nope, that is the club's he has played fors fault.

The problem for me with him is that we have this striker in our books who when he can be arsed is a fantastic talent, but who has, and I'm being generous here , only turned it on in about 25% of his games for us. Remember his solo goal against Chelsea? Imagine having that player week in week out .

I've never given a shit about his Arsenal connection, as Gallas proved if you play well then people forget that shit, but I do care about a lack of effort.

So Ade, go on to pastures new , take the large amounts of cash and please score against everyone else but us.

Ah fuck it, what am I saying, just stop being a money grabbing **** and go.

So that's 1 defender & 4 Central Midfielders out of Spurs squad in a month. 2 potential first XI defenders in.
For first time, I get the feeling club is doing the transfer business based on a well defined plan.

I'm not so sure that's totally accurate as you can't really compare contract work to regular full-time work. Plenty here who have done contract work would probably tell you that they'll often be willing to take a pay cut to gain a longer more secure contract. Ade only has the one year left with us, if many of us were on a contract job with an unknown future we'd probably take the slight cut for something like and additional 3 or 4 years of security.

JJ in the ITK thread last night (didn't seem to make it in here with the Twitter bits):

"SB agent going has changed things a bit however its not all plain sailing with him but he is an option."

from the villa end. theVilla heirarchy would much rather a season long loan than an outright purchase. Ade would need a sweetner from somwhere but nothing like a full pay off.
Would you please ask somebody to remind him that if he goes for the loan now, he will be free to negotiate a signing on fee as a free agent with his future club already within 10 months from now (at the latest)?

Two different players and personalities!. Dont use one to pre-judge the other

The lad has been a consistent liability off the field, shooting his mouth off to the press and being a drink driver to boot. The bright lights of London could make for an interesting combination with his personality.

He's a young kid who was pushing for a move to a bigger club than WestBrom. Is Rooney a liability? He did the same at UTD FFS. I think a young kid can be forgiven for doing some stupid things during his youth. JJ said he has a new agent now, not only could that improve our relationship with him but could also mean he has better management of his personal time and attitude.

I'd definitely give him a chance, he won't be on superstar wages and would be bring a lot of pace and potential to the team.

Also unlike Ade he is young and has room to mature. Other clubs would still gamble on him if it didn't work with us. I'm sure Sunderland and Stoke would line up to take him from us in a couple of years.

Rooney was a liability. Shagging prostitutes, chewing gum on tv etc...

so are you saying he can't grow up and change?
how many youngsters of all ilks like to have a drink or two and get carried away. Not saying I condone it, but it happens.
It's a question of how they react to that, that matters.

As much as I dislike the man and want him out of our club, and he has obviously been a disruptive influence, but he apparently does an awful lot for charity in Africa. He gave his house to an orphanage, is building 2 hospitals and a school amongst other things. I get the impression that he almost has this Jesus-like view of himself (wrong religion I know) and whereas some players might want the big pay off for a new house, he is probably thinking of how many orphans he can save with it.

That is why I said most of us could understand, not all of us, and also that is why he wants a sweetener as he will probably have to take a pay cut to join Villa but wants a shortfall made up in a lump sum to move .

Ade only comes good when he is playing for another contract, so if he is in the last year of his spurs contract and goes to villa on loan for the season, he will just as likely become a 20 goal a season player again, before fading back into mediocrity.

Berahino is an interesting one.

I thought he was going to be a bit of a flash in the pan, and it would still be a gamble based on one relatively good season.

There's also the questions over his attitude, though to be fair if he'd been a complete arse then Pulis would have hung him out to dry and that hasn't happened.

Ultimately though he gets goals, can play as a wide man, can play on his own up the middle, already has successful experience of partnering our top scorer, and is likely to be available for a relatively reasonable sum.

Looking it at that way, it's hard to see many reasons why we wouldn't go for it, but there's something about it that doesn't quite feel right.

Ade is by all accounts, an enigma!

As a player - on his day, he can be world class!
As a man - on his day, he can be kind and caring (re. work he does in Africa)

BUT, when he's not switched on, he simply can't be trusted, as either a player OR a man! (IMO).

Its a mental state of mind and clearly he's not in the right place.
If we didn't know better you could say its almost bi-polar-esque; one side fighting to be the player he can be and the other consumed with greed!

To me we should go out and get him - especially if it is anything like the £15m reported in the press. The chances of us now going out and buying say a Sturridge for that price are now gone. Got to speculate a little and you would hope that the club have done their diligence on the guys character. Worth the gamble and we could have a player worth quite a bit in the future if he progresses as we'd hope. I like the idea. the guys also sharp and has pace. We lack sharpness and quick movement.

In addition - the 'so called character flaws' are kind of minor when you really look at them and analyse them. Stupidity and age really.
