If its £31m + Sahin (resale value) then that's great business. We'd lose a great player but gain a lot of money and more importantly, a like for like replacement.

As a first team regular, Sahin can get back to his Dortmund level and further develop into a £20m+ player.

Dembele, younger, cheaper and was moved to that position by jol this year and done well. Keisuke Honda, good playmaker and scores a fair share of goals at CSKA. Diego, similar age just went back to Wolfsburg as athletico can't afford him.

Moutinho - £15m
Huntelaar - £17m
Ade - £13m (incl. signing fee)
Verts - £10m

Leaves us £15m spare for maybe a new GK and we're happy as larry.

We will struggle to finish 5th if they are the signings we make.

i would rather speculate on them than any of those names . certainly modric for me leaving means playing both sandro and parker and def changing system. creativity lost will be shocking imo.

Would love Sahin, but he recently came out and said words to the effect of him'' going absolutely nowhere, and why would he when he is at the best club in the world and hasn't even had a fair crack of the whip to win game time for himself, because of injury''. Can't see it, I'm afraid.

Banega would be a potentially great buy, and if we end up with a manager like AVB, then the chances of it happening increases a thousandfold, from when we had Harry as our manager

As long as it's well spent, I'd be happy. But considering our front line for next season consists of Defoe, Kane and Lancaster a striker is needed and for the past few seasons we've excelled in most areas except up front. With a 20+ goals a season striker we'd be right up the top end of the table, no doubt about it.

Even if everything goes swimmingly and we get everyone in/out we want, it will probably take awhile for all these new elements to gel.
