Tell City to leave the path clear for De Ligt and we'll sell them Toby. Once De Ligt is signed sell him to PSG instead.
So smart - maybe you should be the little bald-headed right hand! :pompous:

If we had no other choice but to sell Toby to another Premier League side, I'd rather City than Chelsea or United. :shifty:

Anyway too much negativity in here so I'll post this just so there is something more positive to think about.....

Mate had lunch with an agent based in Germany earlier this week and he said we are now pushing for Pulisic. Not a usual line of information(so not sure how reliable), but not the first time I have heard we are interested in him either.
Pulisic makes a lot of sense. Fingers crossed.

Regarding that talk of no firm (viable) interest on Toby, go back and see update 11 from Herc yesterday, incomimgs are not strictly linked to outgoings, we will look to buy our targets and worry about shifting players after.
Stay positive folks.

Barca, Yanited, City & PSG all in for Toby is great news. All have bottomless pits of money and Levy will encourage a bidding war. May harm our chances of getting Martial though

Don't want to be a question asker but can't help myself...

Is/has there been any indication that we will buy before we sell? Some of the players most strongly linked with moves away are going to be at the WC and aside from deals rarely being done during a tournament, the club will hope the Likes of Toby/Dembele have absolute stormers and drive their price up.

If we are going to sell before we buy, it's going to go against what Poch has stated previously.

I'm not sure I agree with you, City will be our biggest challengers for the title over the next couple of years, Chelsea won't and United, who knows which way they will go! A sensible grown up deal with United to suit both of us will be fine with me and from how I read the ITK that isn't off the table.

We would surprise a few if we jumped the queue for Pulisic, Liverpool and Utd have also tracked him for a long time (due to their American ownership). Massive commercial upside as well as being a talented young player with the tool set to succeed in the PL.

all we know is what Hercs has told us, Poch wants his signings in as early as poss, and going by his update yesterday we will buy 1st if we get an offer accepted on our targets.

I'd say Hercules ITK update 11 suggests we will.

Genuinely makes too much sense to not be at least an option. Nike involvement, heavily linked with being a stadium partner too, the US marketing angle, young and obviously talented. Absolute no brainer

I disagree. City have a bottomless pit, if they don't get Toby they'll just throw money at another centre back, maybe De Ligt or another of our targets, who'll then find them hard to turn down.

Chelsea we don't know what the deal is with them at the moment. They've not been spending money like they used to. Their squad is looking tired and is overflowing with mercenaries. The players they have bought over the past year have been unmitigated disasters (Morata, Barkley, Bakayoko, Drinkwater). They get this next managerial appointment wrong and they could genuinely be set for a long term decline, assuming Roman doesn't step in to save them again.

We sell them Alderweireld and we're just handing them a lifeline to get back to our level. It would be fucking lunacy. They're not in the CL, their best player and manager are likely leaving, their only real draw for players over us is a larger pay-packet and the gap there is closing. There is absolutely no way we should be helping them out at this crucial time. If we're resigned to losing Toby I'd far rather it be to City where he can rot on the bench than to Chelsea where he'd go straight to their starting XI and help push us out of the top 4 for years to come.

Christ you are going to be in a dreadful state by August mate:).
I'm not sure we are rushing the Toby transfer as he hasn't gone yet and I'm also not convinced Poch hasn't agreed a new contract so from the same information as you I have got the complete opposite view, maybe I just look on the bright side of life, I may be wrong but it helps get me through the windows.
ITK even when it comes to fruition it doesn't always do it on time I grant you that but the ITK is pretty positive, without specifics it is telling us that we are in the ring and punching, we are going for it this window.

I think Herc alluded to that yesterday, that we need to be brave, get a few of our targets early and worry about moving people on later in the window.

I should think Levy will be very excited about having the USA's biggest prospect at Spurs, what with all the work we've done in the last few years to drum up support across the pond and the NFL deal. I would expect the brand exposure would make him more comfortable with paying a high fee.

It's funny, I remember talking about Pulisic last summer and there were plenty of people on here saying "He'd never join us", "won't happen" etc like we weren't good enough to sign a player of his caliber.

I wonder if they still feel the same way now that we've had some ITK and we're a year down the line.

IMO he's exactly the kind of player to target. Young, super talented and very gettable. Dortmund are very much in transition at the moment, another new manager joining this summer, 3rd manager in 12 months. Sold some big name players recently so you have to wonder where things are going with them.
