I fear we're setting ourselves up for dissapointment if we dont beat YB on wednesday!

If we won, the last few days of the transfer window could be the best ever as a spurs fan - with guaranteed CL group stage , us being 4th seeds and the CL draw on friday - the likes of fabiano, diarra and such can perhaps be looking forward to mouthwatering ties against Barcelona, Madrid, Inter Milan etc..

Back on earth however, lets take things one step at a time, starting with the game against YB on wednesday night

Am I the only one not excited by Hleb? I just don't think he's that good... am I wrong?

This thread is getting way too 'fetish' for my liking:eek:mg:

On topic: Hleb is a genunely silky ball player, quite a sublime passer, at times. But he was way to arrogant when he used and abused the Goons :)rofl::rofl::rofl:), and, quite frankly, I felt that sometimes he lacked heart for the fight.

Maybe his chastisement in Barca has made him more humble...if it has, could be a good signing.

I really, really don't want to end up swapping parker for Jenas. If it's Ohara then fair enough. But why not go and buy the vastly - and I mean vastly - superior Diarra if it's that type of player we want. He won't cost much more than Parker either (wages ???).

I'm sure Redknapp recognizes the value Diarra. He had this to say when he signed the player for Portsmouth

"In my opinion, he's already one of the best midfield players in the Premier League and has the ability to be one of the best there is.
"I'm delighted he has decided to sign for us rather than a host of other clubs," said Redknapp. "He's strong, powerful, quick and can pass the ball - you don't play for France for the last nine or 10 games unless you're top quality."

If we sign Parker instead, there will be valid reason for it

my money has now gone on Fab to Spurs with Skybet, so I'm a believer.

Fair play to adiepf for his info, even if it doesn't come off I believe he has passed on with the right intentions without looking for personal glory.

Today has been a SC classic, well done all

im underwhelmed by fabiano but willing to be proved wrong,i think he is excellent but just worried about premiership adaptability.getting the legs kicked off him in goodison, britannia etc.in saying that i was worried about berbatov when he signed:shake::clap::bowdown::hello::shrug::beer:

And that would be because Redknapp wants a man in the squad. We have a tonne of talent, we probably don't need another central midfielder with Huddlestone, Palacios, Modric, Sandro and Jenas who can all play there but we could do with a few more characters and people who will give it all for the cause. If he thinks Parker is that man fair enough because we don't really have a leader in the middle (as much as Palacios is a great man and tenacious as anyone he isn't a leader).

Diarra has always come across as a bit of a little bitch. He ducked out of Chelsea when it got too tough. Couldn't cut it at Arsenal. Stood out at Pompey and now has faded into nothing at Real. Despite being a talented player (even if he does have a fair dose of Zokora in him) is he going to add the leadership that our team really needs? If not then why not put our faith in our other talented central midfielders?

Adiepf, I'll try to ask this in an inquisitive, non bashing way in order to hopefully alleviate some questions.

The one part of the info I am finding hard to reconcile is the Jamie O to the Spammers, when the official site says he's having a back op on Thursday.

Are they prepared to sign him despite this?

Well, he's avoided that one this season:grin:

Wow, I forgot about that and it has just struck me - if Diarra signs that will be two players 'Arry will have signed this window who have played for Chelsea, The Goons and Us...what would the odds on that have been at the beginning of the TW.

They did sign Kieron Dyer and various other crips, so they have previous.

I did post last week that my Boro playing mate told me Jones to Pool was a done deal, and that Cudicini was there No 1 GK target and they had already enquired. But this got lost in the ITK discussion thread somewhere. Are the Mods able to find it at all please?

Also what I last posted, seems to be on course still:

Who: brownhead
When: 17th August, 12:10am
Site: SC

Quote:
Pletikosa, passed medical but not convinced with fitness/ability looks very rusty (hence the weeks training, he is really being put through it to see if he still got it)
Bellamy, Richards, Ireland, SWP, None happening. City def not playing ball, cant stand us from Corluka deal, beating them to champs league, jealous of us and do not want to strengthen us
Gallas, being worked on hard to get done asap
Young, still arrys choice (once knew Bellamy was a no go) being worked on, issues with fee and villa, personal terms would not be a prob, he wants to come. Still trying but conscious of when done/being cup tied and price.
Capel, Been offered to us, (attractive to us if we cannot get Young) available at a good price we think, and if it helps another deal go through!! then we may just end up with him, however there is again an atmosphere with the Sevilla board due to Ramos saga and deals are extra tricky with them
Fabiano, Its true, DL working extra hard. DL in Seville as of last night, its complicated due to wages, Sevillas dislike of us and DL, Capel being almost pushed in as part of the deal.
Remy, Back up for Fabiano deal. Agreed in principal for 10m deal plus add ons. Told them will are waiting CL qualification, but is really to see what happens with Fabiano
Khumalo, been and gone. Didnt impress in trial

Jenas, Has option of Juve, Fiorentina, Liverpool and Fulham also interested in loan deal, but Jenas has heart on going to Italy, this also suits us.
Hutton, Cannot agree fee as yet with Birmingham, still ongoing, Newcastle interested too.
Bentley, Hughes a big fan, would like him. Just whether Fulham can afford it. No one else interested.
O'Hara, will be off to West Ham once fit.
Pav, being offered about by agent (we secretly ok with this). Marseille did enquire but put off by price. He will be the striker to leave.
Keane, staying, realises will get fair share of games. However, he has said this before but then when doesnt start for a few, asks to leave.

I do know more, but will not be posting as stated before. But v.good times ahead for us! ;) Cannot wait

Sorry to sound like a mardy arse, but Fabiano doesn't interest or excite me one bit.
