im not sure if anyone else has mentioned this already... but why not go for Mata? Mourinho isnt playing him. He was sensational last year and is acclimatised to the league - and he is exactly what we need to link up with bobby soldier....

I was thinking that as well. But it will come down to wages and CL football as always!

Willian hasn't signed for anyone yet so before some people start saying he's shit, overpriced and you never wanted him anyway, we should all remember that our Afro quota is majorly down right now.

He would be a great addition. I'm more excite about lamela but I'd be majorly gutted if they signed him....the ****s

Not being funny but having IMTW back is the best signing of the window. He's like a good talkshowhost. ;)

But what about Pauline-ho, you just cast her away like a used johnny!!

She had feelings as well you know.

I for one will never forget her, she changed my life

If Chelsea are really in for him I can't see us signing him unfortunately. He would be a bit part player there but I don't think the modern footballer thinks like that. He wil think he is good enough to start, just like Bale will and Chelsea have a better chance of winning trophies, in the CL etc. Sad but true.

We cant blame Levy for it either. He had no control over it.

However, imo this is a perfect illustration of why the Bale saga should have been sorted by now. Levy and Lewis are in control of that and they should have set a deadline imo.Told Madrid to pay up and if they didn't expalin to them and Gareth that its dead. Sorry, tough titties.

Playing transfer chicken is dangerous. As has been said, transfers are complicated and things change. Therefore, we need more time to react to situations like we find ourselves in with Willian. He might not be a direct replacement but its clear that we intend to use the Bale money to fund it and if it goes wrong and we are committed to selling Bale we will be scrabbling around at the end of the window for inferior players. Lemala isn't enough to justify the Bale sale. Soldado needs a creative player behind him or he will be wasted.

I think Siggy centrally is more effective than when he is out wide. Lamela has played in the hole behind the ST. Holtby can play there as well as Chadli. While none might be as amazing as William at stepovers they can all do the job. We are hardly short of the old second striker or CAM role.

Lamela & William would be great, but of the 2, I'd pick the more versatile Lamela every day.

Willian has far greater assists then anyone if i remember correctly when I was checking a few days ago. His dribbling ability is far greater than Siggy and Holtby as well as his movement off the ball. While his eye for a pass is better than Lamela. His work rate off the ball betters both Siggy and Lamela too. As I said earlier, Lamela is fanatstic and I wouldnt turn my nose up at him while I also believe that Holtby could develop into a real talent but if you were to ask out of the players you have mentioned which would be best for our current team playing behind the striker then I would still have to say Willian.

"Paperwork is sent" means only one thing to me, and I'd have thought to anyone interested in football transfers. It means that signed contracts have been sent (usually still by fax apparently) to FIFA, The Premier League and the FA, so that the agreed transfer of the player's registration from selling club to buying club can be processed. The signatures need to be of authorised signatories of both clubs, and the player. Whether this has happened I don't know, but this is what the ITK is suggesting. If that is indeed the case then all the criteria for the transfer will have been fulfilled, and anyone acting like a fuckwit will have no effect.
So, as usual the question comes down as usual to taking the information with a pinch of salt.
Issue seems to be we sent our bit but Anzhi haven't sent theirs... and as I understand it both clubs need to fax papers separately to FIFA... So not sure it matters what we have done if Anzhi don't send their bit.

We need to accept where we are in the food chain. Football is all about two things these days (sadly) Money and Champions League.

In comparism to the clubs we are competing with for the type of players we have neither.

Arsenal, Chelsea, City, United will always have the edge on us and 99% of the time players will choosed these clubs over us.

Christ not 10 years ago we werent even in the mix for these type of players and certainly no where near the champions league. The managemetnt have done a great job to get us where we are depsite a small stadium and limited budgets.

Sometimes there are just bigger fish.

Or am I getting confused with hazard which was a year later?

I'm so so so sorry if I am.

Nobody screwed anyone over Hazard, the player himself was a complete whore batting his eyelids at a number of clubs (including us and the Arse) for a couple of months. When Chelsea spawned their CL win he suddenly wanted them.

But his behaviour the entire time, even when we were the team that he'd always admired and loved (for that particular day) was incredibly nauseating.

Lets be honest here.

If its a straight choice between us and Chelsea. Which by the sounds of it is the case.

He is only going to sign for one club and it aint Spurs.

Resigned to the fact he isnt coming. Lets move on.

I don't believe that, and I tink that the whole AVB relationship will win through.

If he had wanted to join the Chavs then I think that wold have come out in the wash before.

IMHO this is all to do with that 'orrible little excuse of an agent **** of his just acting in the only ****ing way that he knows as he is a ****.

I'd love to meet him one night..........

We have an exceptional speedy wingers/wild man.

We also have a wold class defender.

We just got an overwhelming domination midfielder.

And we got a top notch clinical striker.

Only on thing left is the player who can lead this team and conquer the pitch under his feet!!

Who do you guys think could do that?

COYS!!!

We are not getting Ozil.

We are not getting Mata.

And yes, I hope this ends up as one of those funny quotes in someone's sig one day, with the two of them having just scored a brace each for us in the champions league final.

But we would never get them
