I think they have all been 'hoisted on their own petard' (never thought I'd get to say that - if its right)

But all done with best of motives, so no bad. Could have happened to any of us.
Ooooh, get you. Our Steven has been book learnin' again.

Mourinho failed at Madrid. He is a bitter man who realises that his star is fading and he will do anything to try and get his name in the papers. Could we really expect anything less from a man who calls himself 'the special one'?

There's a new kid on the block and he doesn't like it. This saga is only going to strengthen the camaraderie between AVB and everyone at Spurs. Everyone from the outside looking in can see which club is run in the right manner.

We were here before them, we had won an FA Cup before they were even founded. We will be here long after they sink back into the depths of the football League.

Been saying Damiao would be the deadline week/day signing. Would not surprise me one bit.

Very nonplussed about that. If the price is right he MAY be a good buy, but I suspect it, and he, won't be. Not what we need either is he, although if we get rid of Ade and Defoe we definitely need a backup striker.

although i would hate for this saga to carry on i also thought that this may happen then. i don't know weather to be happy or not.

ITK just regarding mourinho's interview he stated that Willian was a Plan B or Plan C.

We would need another striker if Ade and/or Defoe leave. Damiao would be a good signing IMO. Can't be left with two senior strikers again after the farce of last season.

It's amazing we haven't been relegated with this yrly depreciation of talent we have to endure.

We've hardly been tearing up the Champions League though have we.

This whole window seems to be heading towards yet another case of one step forward two steps back. Bring in some brilliant midfielders and a top quality striker, then sell our star player, fuck up the replacements, and leave our forward line disjointed and as creative as a brick.

Anyone who thinks we'll keep Bale when we inevitably miss out on Lamela is dreaming with their eyes open. We'll probably spunk the cash on Johnny Average and his mate Danny Deadwood.

I agree, but Damiao would probably cost north of 20 million. That's not even close to being good value, certainly not for a backup striker.

On SSN right now:

They have just built the stage inside the Bernabeu that they used to unveil Ronaldo. Live video images of the stage were shown. The stage wasn't there last night (as Raul had his testimonial).

I detest that scum club more, way more, than Arsenal. From their Russian money-laundering Mafiosi at the top, down through their smug, arrogant manager, to the thuggish and/or mercenary players, all the way to their neanderthal chav "fans". Despicable bunch, the lot of them.

Don't waste your energy venting your spleen at Chelsea they are really not worthy of your time.

My fellow depressives,
Why exactly are we selling Bale again if we can't bring in replacements that will benefit the team in the long run?

Because he wants to go?
Because the money is too good to turn down?
Some other reason?

Genuine question, no snark.

Right been trying to keep up with this today, a lot to take in. I'm a bit pissed at some people's attitudes in here, I'm gonna get this off my chest now..

1, Will people stop saying "here come the ITK excuses" to say that is paramount to saying you never believed them. If so why are you on this thread? I don't want you here, f**k off to vital football or Harry Hotspur with that attitude. The ITK'S hear info but are not psychic, they pass on what they can from their sources.

2, Those who keep saying "Levys screwed up again" you have zero idea how these deals work, you may be right, but to say it as matter of fact is pure shite. These are VERY complex deals involving multiple parties, complex negotiations, multi millions of pounds. Your not haggling at a car boot sale over a fiver. Things can go wrong, talks can break down...and other clubs have every right to bid, until a player signs it's a free for all.

3, Stop slagging Willian off, you don't know him, he has no affiliation with Spurs, he owes us nothing. Footballers have a short career, they do need to maximise their income (it's their right) whilst playing. It may not make sense to us but it is their job. Although I do agree agents are leaches, but again this is their job to get their clients the best deal, whilst pocketing money for themselves.

I know this emotional for us fans as we are the true lovers of the club, we all have onions, and that's what is great about this...we all have our own view. But please don't start stating facts that are not true.
We have had a fantastic window so far, Soldado, Paulinho, Capouee, Chadli...would we have dreamed of breaking our transfer fee twice in one window? Daniel and co are pulling out all the stops for our club, and I for one am thankful for that.
Maybe our expectations are so big now because of our business so far??

My main issue is slagging ITK'S off, don't do it. You may push them away for good, then where will this thread be? In fact I think an instant ban for anyone taking the piss out of ITK'S?

And breath!!

Love you my spurs brothers! COYS!

agree with all your points bar the Willian slagging off! he defo deserves that! he wasted our time, money in wages and fees, all the people that were around to do the deal, he decided to u turn he could have said no get lost chavs, he didnt he deserves any crap on him.

SK, calm yourself matey. This window so far has not been the usual one for us. Everything about it suggests a shift change. Will we have a perfect window as was looking possible a couple of days ago? Likely not. I'm not convinced GB will leave right now. Him leaving and AVB not getting in adequate replacements and this could go ****ybooby in an instant. From the POV of Andre throwing a major shit-fit this time at being left short-handed if nothing else.

Give DL one more chance. If we sell Bale, miss out on Lamela and only sign a couple of token squad players to finish off this window then A&C and the rest can get in line because me and my pitchfork will be first up to have a go at DL.
