Can never be 100% sure of how a player will perform after a transfer. But Ndicka has been one of the better LCB in club football for two or so years now. Left footed, decent on the ball, tall and fast, very complete. Certainly a better defender than Bastoni, though the Italian have other qualities. Not Gvardiol level of course as no one is as he'll be a football legend in the coming decade.

I never understand the "have to wait until other priorities are sorted first" line. Why does the club take this approach? You're either willing to spend the money on a CB or not. So if we get Porro and Zaniolo we could move for Ndicka. But if we don't get Porro and Zaniolo sorted, we wont...

I read it as we are not going to be distracted from our priorities as they are too important and we can't afford to lose out on them. When they're done we'll assess the Ndicka situation. Not that we really want him but let's just leave it until later.

If we get all or some of Zaniolo, Porro and Ndicka then that indicates to me that we've decided to back Conte as they're all very much players for his system.
The worry is if we get none.

Happy with a new CB that is flexible to play in a back 4, so that is good ITK. This maybe controversial, but any players that are only suited to the back 3 system (i.e. wingbacks - Porro ITK) should be put on hold, as I can't see Conte sticking around and the system will no doubt change (I bloody well hope so).

In fairness, we need all of RW/CAM, 2 CBs, RWB and keeper. At least it's not a player like Trossard that we don't need right now. Our bench has also been appalling at points this season so Zaniolo would definitely strengthen us. If we can get him on loan with an option then that's a perfect deal...

The wild thing is, considering the state of the squad, even if we brought in Zaniolo and Porro I’d be underwhelmed by the window if we don’t get anyone else.
