Hmmmm.

Hearing there have been discreet enquiries for Lewis Cook.

Maybe a fall back option or an addition to a more senior CM?

I was told two at the start of the window if Dembele left. :cautious:

Thought Grealish would be that player.

He's better off staying at Bournemouth for the next couple of seasons to develop more where he's a starter.

I can't imagine him getting the game time he would want here, plus I think we can do alot better.

Wouldn't be disappointing if he was one of two cm players coming in, the other being a more experienced/established buy (if Dembele leaves).

Grealish / Winks / Cook would be a nice combination to blood and allow Poch to mould...

Thanks for the info Trix. Hoping it is a backup we won't need to go for.

Do like the look of Lewis Cook but we already have Winks and could possibly be looking to convert Grealish to a deeper role.

I'm hoping we have a couple of preferred options of suitable quality.

I like him. Got his England debut and made his grandfather a couple of pounds richer because of that. He's talented and I can see why Poch would want him

I'm pretty confused by this because, I assumed from having watched Grealish that he was considered the younger cm with potential as he was playing deeper. Surely Cook and Grealish would fill the cm with potential role. Goddam I want to know who the senior CM is.

Don’t really see the logic tbh. Rather keep Onomah.

Perhaps someone at the club knows something you don't?
Perhaps Onomah is not rated as highly by the people that work with him?
Perhaps Josh is over hyped on here by people that haven't seen him compete against seasoned pro's?
Perhaps none of that is true, or even all of it, but the way JO is spoken of on here is so reminiscent of so many talented Youth players who have never made it in the long term. So someone who released them clearly knew something.

I'd wager Windy has seen him play shed loads more than you Eddie

At a level where he was bigger and stronger than everyone so, surprise surprise, he dominated midfield.

This has been done to death - with much disagreement - in other threads, and Onomah is clearly a favourite of Windy’s.

That’s fine, and it’s fine therefore for Windy to want him to stay.

I just disagree with his high-held opinion of the player and am personally not surprised at all if this is Pochettino’s judgement.

Wish Josh well, but that’s professional football at the top level. It’s incredibly hard to beak through.

Might just be a case that we are just letting him know we rate him, we did the same with Sessegnon for example.

I have to also add I really do like the look of Cook but I struggle to see how Grealish, Cook and winks all fit in at spurs.

Perhaps we are switching our CM target to Cook (who I like) as a homegrown player , because we've changed our WF target to a non-homegrown player? Seems to be a lot of swapping around to get our ideal 2 HG and one non-HG out of our targets...

If Poch got his hands on Cook and Grealish Southgate might as well get a box at the new ground as he could watch half his squad there
