I’d be quite interested in both being loaned to a Premier League club (along the lines of Palace, Fulham or Wolves where game time is a possibility). Seeing how Loftus-Cheek flourished last season, we might get a chance to see them perform, or not, in the top flight

Onomah leaving on a permanent deal would be a gutter. Sends out all the wrong signals to the talent we have coming through the ranks too.
I’m not so sure.

If a player can’t make it at Spurs, that doesn’t mean their career is over, there are still dozens of clubs lower down the leagues that they could play for.

I think if we show that we’re willing to let them leave if they don’t make the cut, rather than sign them up and keep them benched (or worse, not even selected especially now that reserve games are a thing of the past), there’s still an incentive for them. The opportunity to work in our academy, which has a reputation for being a pretty good one for the young players, even if at the end of it they don’t get to play for us, is still an attractive prospect, I’d say.

Most kids will be told early on that playing for the academy doesn’t automatically mean that they’ll don the full shirt one day.

In reality, the chances of a player from our youth setup actually breaking through and having a serious impact in our first team are incredibly slim - and we're one of the better clubs in this regard.

We are, however, very good at spotting serious talent in other youth setups and bringing them to the club (Alli, Dier, Foyth, Sanchez in recent years to name a few).

If Onomah and Edwards are makeweights to secure signings which will improve our squad depth, then so be it, and best of luck to them. If they had the potential of Winks and Kane then I'm sure Poch would fight hard to keep them.

Ryan Fredericks, Tom Carroll, Nabil Bentaleb, Alex Pritchard, Jake Livermore, not to mention players like Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend or even Peter Crouch that were let go off from our club after developing through the youth system. Their chance doesn't just stop at Tottenham

Realistically Onomah needs a season on loan to a PL team playing in his preferred position. If he can’t get that he won’t break through so can see why he’d want to go.

Both have far more potential than winks...with Edwards it seems to be attitude and numerous other more personal issues. With Josh it's being played out of position every single time he plays a senior game of football. He performs so well at CM for the England youth team, including at the world cup, but never gets a game there at senior level. It's just mismanagement imo. I'd be pissed off if we sold him to villa as part of the Grealish deal. Josh is by far the more talented footballer, especially at CM.

Onomah is not better than Grealish. Fake news.

You can see it yet Poch and our coaching team can't? Think I'll go with whatever the club decide personally.

The only way that's true is if Winks continues to have injury problems. Winks without injury problems has the potential to be world class.

Would be annoyed if we did let Onomah go, as seems we’ve really stepped back from giving promising youngsters proper chances.

Onomah hasn’t been given one start in his proper central midfield role for us.

I'm happy to let Josh go. He won't break through into the first team so the only way he's got any chance of living up to his potential is by going elsewhere.

I lot of people may disagree with me now but I genuinely wouldn’t be that bothered if Onomah left. We’re talking about a player who’s 21 and struggled to get in to the Aston Villa team. May be that he’s been injured or played in the wrong position but I really hoped he would’ve come further at this point. I feel like he still has a long way before he can compete for a spot in this Spurs side.
