Cheers Hercules and JJ. Been on the pop Monday and Tuesday, but witnessed the meltdown.

Far too wrecked to post Monday, Tuesday hair of the dog and wrath of the missus.

Nice refreshing start to Wednesday, missus only thinks I'm an arsehole as opposed to a right tw*t, and Malcom deal appears still doable.

I'll take that.

Does seem like that now, although I seem to remember Herc or JJ suggesting originally he was our number two. I wonder if Lucas was our first choice. Would have be strange tho as they are at very different places in their development. Ether way, I wonder if we originally want Malcom this window or if we were always happy to wait till summer.

My reading of it is that there is another, bigger deal we're pursuing, but that is for a player in a different position to Malcom (probably a CM).

Thats how I understood it as well and also that none of our targets are for this window but to get deals closed for summer already now.

Whether we agree or not I can't imagine Sissoko with his international caps and CL creds now would devalue himself to join a relegation scrap lower/mid table french side and he would have to agree to join any team we sell him too so... doubt it?

sounds like you've been through his bins too !! To be honest Malcolm sounds more like the stalker than stalkee !! Either way i'm happier with an informed view than a youtube compilation so now we just need JJ or Hercules to deploy you to the next target....

I know it's not the point you were making, but you could say the same thing about Davinson Sanchez too - in a back 4 he's still behind Vertonghen and Alderweireld so he may have been our 1st choice signing, but he's not necessarily in our best 11. We play that many games that the squad has never been more important. Look how many games Sissoko has played...
