I agree that WBA's comments mean that the Berahino deal probably won't happen today.

They have to realise though that they have a saleable asset there only really until Tuesday. After that, unless someone is really desperate in January, they are keeping a player on the books, one that doesn't want to play for them any more, who will leave for free next summer.

I don't think a club like WBA will be able to do that, so unless there is a big offer from elsewhere (and I don't see where that would come from), I have faith in the ITK and am confident that he will be ours by the time the window closes. I'm sure all this is some sort of effort to save face on WBA's part.
He's under contract to WBA until 2017.

Ideally I'd like to see the Berahino deal resolved shortly, just that it free's up time and resources for other targets. Surely we have exhausted this transfer long enough now, for it not to be completedo by now.

Yesterday Trix mentioned an enquiry about Mahrez.
Seriously? So much for the plan, if we are targeting Mahrez after three games of the season. Typical Spurs.... And now there is talk of Lamela going on loan. At this rate its going to be a very long season....

Can't see Leicester bending over for us and selling their hot, new prospect at this stage in the window. Look at how drawn out the Beharino transfer has been/ is; I think it's very unlikely, sadly

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Trix implied that there's actually been long standing interest in Mahrez and it's not just a knee-jerk enquiry due to his good start to the season.

I can understand why to be honest, he's performing very well.

But it's very spurs like, by that I mean in terms of when we bought Bentley ;-)

We are a bit thin at AM positions. I can't see the possibility of signing Mahrez doing any actual harm at least. If we'd signed him before the last match, that deal would already have gotten us 2 points more.

The guy who brought him in at Leicester was hired by us during last season.
