I've never been convinced by the Traore move so am absolutely fine if pushing for Diaz puts Traore on the backburner.

However, if we don't get Traore, I really hope we have an alternative RWB option lined up as it's an obvious weak spot in the team.

If you want to sail under the radar with a transfer offer, seems you’d better nail it quickly. Big assumption that what is being reported is true, but we’ve fired our bullet and missed the target and in doing so awoken anyone sitting on the sidelines that Diaz is there for the taking. Competition is great for the seller but really sucks if you are the buyer with the smallest overdraft.

I'm all for binning off Traore if it means we get Diaz.

Doherty/Emerson *should* be enough to tide us over until the summer.

Diaz looks like a generational talent and if there's any chance of getting him, we've gotta do it.

This. Mendes & all these big superagents. They rarely, if ever, do what is actually best for their client or for clubs. They do what is best for their wallets. That is why they go shopping their players around to everyone practically every summer. That is why players who have 6 months left on their deals arent being sold. They want to extract every last cent they can solely for their fees. You really think these players will be getting more wages on a free in June than if they would if they were sold for literal peanuts in January?

Want proof? Look no further than Troare. Barca cant even register him without selling a few players(or extending Umtiti another 6 years further lol). Yet Mendes is talking to them & is pushing to get him there. Why? He doesnt give a shit about Barca. He just knows they are stupid enough to take out more loans to buy players & pay exorbitant agent fees they cant afford to curry favor with said agents in the hopes of signing their next big things.

That will fly straight over so many heads on here. How many more times will we hear Levy just needs to spend the extra to get him in this window right now.
My guess is Mendes pissing everyone about because he's got something else brewing.

Not if we have plans to bring in someone we can't get until the Summer for CM.


I can't keep saying it enough. Think of the bigger picture boys and girls. This is being done over 2 transfer windows. We need X amount of pieces to finish the puzzle. It may be a bit of a hindrance in the short term not to get them in priority order but it might make things far easier in the long term if we get more difficult pieces in now because they are available now.

This makes sense, but we have been here before. And also, more importantly, what is achievable in the summer is probably proportional to what we achieve this season!
