I just went back and read pages of last season's transfer deadline thread :dead:

As of Aug 30 last year, we had 2-3 mostly sorted (per the ITK) and one "big one" being worked on. Those 3 mostly sorted all came off (NKoudou, Lopez, Sissoko). The "big one" didn't pan out (assuming Isco).


Additionally, it's made me hope @Archibald&Crooks comes back and chimes in on the final couple of days. He was very entertaining last year.

Don't think he is. If you search his name then he goes back to 2011.

He called a line up correctly for the home game against Blackpool in May 2011, he appears to have genuine information.

Not criticizing ITKs at all here because they just share what they know but yeah, we hear this same thing every window. Not sure when the "big one" actually has come off. I've only been following Spurs for five or so years so maybe I missed it. Was Van de Vaart the last "big one" to be brought in?

As of now it just seems like Groundhog Day. Barkley and Aurier are (hopefully) done and will be good additions. Then the yet to be named forward prospect will likely prove to be "too difficult" and we will be stuck with the same need that we had for a pacy creative attacker. Then we will just have to cross our fingers and hope no one gets hurt.

Of course I hope I am completely wrong. The only reason for optimism in my opinion is that Levy did change a bit last year by paying up for Sissoko out of nowhere which was extremely unlike him. In hindsight, it wasn't wise but maybe he will try again if the player in question is better.

Blaino had been quoted from FTL on here many times before. Recently (might even be June) he called the Sessgnon contract.
