Sorry, but where does JJ say we should get a few in from this?

JJ - “there are few deals still to go through hopefully”

It could mean we are just sending some out on loan or selling. 'Hopefully' we will get some in but that's only my own personal hope from it.
In and out.

I still think 30million is way too mach for Pape Sarr
15million with add-ons probably up to the 30million. Don't see an issue with that. If he isn't good then it's just probably the 15 million, if he turns out good, then 30 million for a squad/first team player isn't too bad

Can't see us doing 2 x £30m+ deals to be honest (would love to be wrong).

I also find it odd that the 3 primary CM names that we're linked to (McKennie, Kessie, Aouar) are pretty different stylistically.

Only logic I can think is that they see our current CM's as being flexible in the CM roles they can occupy

I agree with this but now that we know the Kane situation Patrici has an idea of thetools we have to work with. Especially given the loan option with purchase deals, there maybe other factors such stadium naming etc that maybe factored in. I would be surprised (butnot amazed) if Patrici was here but without the tools to do his job.

I know it's not precisely ITK-related, but can I say that I think the Transfer Ticker thread is really good. All the snippets and ITK info-drops in one place really works well, in my opinion.

Dreaming of Traore, a CM and perhaps Tomisayu late on. Shifting 1/2 of the deadwood (even on loan) plus Cuti, Gil, Golllini and keeping Kane - it could be one of our best windows for sometime with most squad issues addressed

Both Skipp and Hojbjerg are capable of flexibility, I believe. Lo Celso too, perhaps. Aouar is the one I'd want given the choice as he seems to be the most natural creator of that three. Perhaps it's simply a case of Aouar come in if Ndombele goes, Kessie for Sissoko, McKennie for Winks or however the club sees their comparative strengths and weaknesses.

Do we think the club could potentially pay off Aurier and Sissoko to leave?

I expect they aren't playing because they have asked to leave, and Nuno's only playing those who will be here for the season. If Aurier signed a new deal, we wouldn't be replacing him.
I'm sure it's been suggested they have options/offers anyway

I'm not sure we need a creator as much as we need players who can draw opposition towards them and open up space. We have GLC, Ndombele, even Kane, Dele and Hojbjerg can pick a pass but the thing with the EPL is that you just do not get the time on the ball to do it. It's too easy to look at players like Aouar who play this role elsewhere but to expect them to recreate it over here is a bit of a gamble, especially with his supposed attitude problems. I think we need centre mids with both physicality and technical ability, to allow the players we already have to shine more in terms of creativity. Kessie would be the dream.

Good players create that time and space, whether that's through skill and strength to create space, or by knowing their next pass before they receive ball. That's why modric is one of my favourite players over the last 20 years.
At the moment we just don't have a player to spread the play and break the lines with passes which has led to the poor movement we have consistently complained about.

I still think we have an over reliance on ball carriers. The ball moves quicker through passing than dribbling.

Goooooooood morning SCnam!

The last thread was dedicated to fleec erm, asking you for donations and you stepped up magnificently, raising around 2k toward the running costs which should keep us in beer and prostitutes cover the server costs until saturday roughly the next transfer window, so a huge thank you to all of you who donated.

I know I give you a good coating but generally, you're good eggs.

Well, ****s but lets not split hairs.

Some ITK of a different sort: THFC have had to provide a small stepladder outside the club front door so that they can see Daniel Levy when he pushes the button on the video doorbell. This was prompted by his having to jump up and down in an effort to be seen, it was only when he retreated quite far that he became visible and only then because the sunlight glinted off his noggin.

On to the Kane saga. Rumours have it that 'Charlie Kane is so stupid that' jokes have been circulating by e-mail around the club hierarchy, my personal favourite being "Charlie Kane is so stupid he has to get naked to count to 21"

More to come over the next few days.
Bout time I coughed up again ...been pretty good in here of late -- cant remember how though as I am old - remind me please

I agree but I just think that kind of player is rare though. Maybe Aouar is that player, but I can't see it myself. With the options available I would prefer we try to find a way to spread the play through balancing the squad in other areas. I can absolutely see GLC making those kind of passes in a midfield three alongside Kessie and PEH for example, but alongside Winks and Sissoko? He has too much else to do.

According to Skysports, we have reached our quota of non homegrown players in the squad. This maybe a reason for the delay in getting more players in. An annual problem for us that doesn’t to apply to other clubs. For example, wolves must have registered themselves in Lisbon given the amount of Portuguese players in their squad
