According to Skysports, we have reached our quota of non homegrown players in the squad. This maybe a reason for the delay in getting more players in. An annual problem for us that doesn’t to apply to other clubs. For example, wolves must have registered themselves in Lisbon given the amount of Portuguese players in their squad

Been covered extensively. Sky are wrong, as usual.

We have 14 over-21 non homegrown players in our squad for the PL. Quota is 17.

We have 18 non homegrown players for the UCL (adding Rodon, Doherty, Davies, and Gill who is 20 but hasn't spend 2 years in England to be u21 for UCL). Quota is 17.

Obviously It would be nice to get everyone in the UCL squad, but it's not a deal breaker, and several are leaving.

I know it's not precisely ITK-related, but can I say that I think the Transfer Ticker thread is really good. All the snippets and ITK info-drops in one place really works well, in my opinion.
I bet its a bit of a pain to keep track of too, if you're moderating it, so I appreciate the work that goes into keeping it up to date.

Is Romano now viewed as a reputable journalist, or does he still fall into the 'tap-in merchant' bracket?
Like most journos he'll have decent sources of his own, and so will break some stories and follow up on others, while saying nothing and twisting it as an update. He won't be right 100% of the time and he won't be wrong 100% of time.

His posts get put on the ITK ticker so he's seen as a reptuable source on here.

Since Paratici's appointment, his sources seem to get more info regarding Spurs. If you look at his following list, he's idenitified journos he monitors and considers reliable. He's done the vetting so I consider what he tweets accurate, even if it is second hand info.

Just did the Times quiz and he was the answer to one of the questions! (Romano). so erm, yea, that's it. I got it right and the wife got it wrong. She asked me how I knew, and I told her that I keep abreast of current affairs. As opposed to wasting hours in a Spurs forum arguing about spending £35m on Paper Sarr.

With that Telegraph piece on Traore, I really hope we haven't been putting all our eggs in that basket.

FWIW-Absolutely nobody pays 100% cash upfront!!!
It is normally spread over duration of player’s contract. And in this case, exactly how Wolves structure their deals.

Thanks Herc. Seems like posturing on Wolves part to at least get us to commit to an obligation. Wonder if they'd agree to a Jota-style deal, where the down payment was relatively small compared to the total price

It's this situation where a loan plus obligation doesn't really make much difference. A big enough loan fee and it amounts to almost the same as a straight up transfer.

I can't imagine why we'd think anything less than an obligation would be acceptable. A pressure on Wolves is the two years left on his contract so the possibility of him going back next year with one year is a no goer.

Of course but we'd still pay that amount spread out or not

not liking he's involved with this.

We’ve known he’s now involved since the manager search concluded though. Trix I believe said that things might look positive at the start but long-term didn’t like the outlook.
