.
Blimey, We get some positive ITK and then two pages of people saying nah don't believe it, well I'm going on record to say I do believe it and I'll tell you why.
The difference this year is that it appears we have a coach who is flexible on a selection of players for the roles he wants and we've done the prelim's and narrowed them down to the best possibilities which makes it a whole lot more likely than under an inflexible coach who wants his number one target and no one else.
Honestly this is different.
There I've said it.
Wish i had your faith. It isn't like our Chairman not to let us fans and manager down.
We will see though but i'm not falling into the trap i fall in every year.
Thank you ITK though for sharing information.

We’ve left it too late. To find/attract players better than our current first 11 is going to cost a lot of money.
I think we have a strong group capable of starting. I don't think we were ever going to sign a 1st team starter this late. I said when we sold Kane that I felt we had done our starting team signings and the rest will be squad ones for competition. The centre back really just needs to be better suited to the high press than what Dier is. I've seen a few players linked who are suitable and would seem to be available still. Then for forwards I think we're just looking at young prospects anyway, players with potential to be first 11 and there's also several available this late that we've been linked too.

It’s like you all want this thread to be locked. It’s the last week of the window, and there are threads for everything that’s currently being discussed in here. Show some restraint, please.

You get the feeling that this is very similar to Nelson and Saha in that the time is so right to really push on as the benefits are clear and obvious. First time around he shit the bed, somehow he’s lucked into a position where targeted backing can once again really propel us up several levels from an already really strong position.

let’s see.

Both of those players were brought in during the January transfer window, a totally different time of the season. Besides we signed Bentancur and Kulu in January didn't we?

We won't be ending this transfer window without at least one more signing in my humble opinion, and the latest ITK suggest that.

Good ITK for this window so far.

I’m glad to see a backup CB is one of the priorites, Ange tends to rotate his back 4 less than the more advanced players, so there’s more chance of injuries, if Romero or VDV are out for any length of time it would hurt us.

Prof on COYS in response to a post about Brennan Johnson:

As I’ve mentioned before, as much as Ange would like another striker, he believes a winger is an even higher priority for his vision to be implemented.

Dragon 1 on COYS re Brennan Johnson

As others stating there is some credibility to the Johnson rumors , at 50 million we view price as very aggressive so will depend if forest come down and if they take Sanchez/ Spence etc

Not sure we need to be rotating the back 4 when we are playing one game a week

That ITK is of course positive, but let’s be
honest - we’ve been here before.

Based off years of experience, I’d be very surprised if we bring anyone else in. The fact we have been hearing the ‘need to move out deadwood first’ line for a few weeks now should have the alarm bells ringing.

Will be happy if we buck the trend, but we need to look back on historical lines here to see what the likely outcome will be.

Shocking we are hearing this after selling HK for 100m, should have two 50m players in as replacements immediately, good start under Ange is making folks not think about this.

Thanks for the ITK, looking forward to the ride and maybe a change COYS

Don't get this at all when we have Perisic, Solomon and Gil (when he's back) behind Son and Deki. But I'm sure Ange knows what he's doing. Thanks for sharing!

I really don't think Deki and Perisic are the wingers for his system, they can definitely do a job, but they aren't ideal. I like Gil, I thought he would have been a good fit if not for the injury.

Son can play up top also, so maybe another winger who can play up top also to give 3 options there?

Think Solomon can cover Son esp if moves him centrally so maybe that’s the reason. Probably think Gil will be loaned or not really ready for the league. Hard to know until he is back up and running.

I'd say Deki is getting better each game (so far), and we wouldn't have permanently signed him unless Ange wanted him (Deki himself said Ange wanted him), and Perisic was one of the stand-out players in the pre-season and was more or less on his way out before he seemingly slotted in so easily in this Ange team. So that doesn't really add up to me.

That said, I hear you, and again, I'm sure Ange has a plan. Crossing my fingers we manage to add a few more pieces to the puzzle these final days!

If Levy thinks it is ok to sell your only striker and not replace him, what chance do we have, when you have a complete prick in charge…

Agreed, Son should be seen as a striker now and a left winger is needed to replace him.
