If it were any other realistic manager (Pep don't count) why would we need to wait until the 1st of July to announce it? That date is telling given the speculation regarding AVB's payments from Chelsea and suggests that its somebody who has issues with their ex Club, like a severance package etc...

hello AVB.

But that's all it is though right now? Speculation? People have posited it as a scenario online, then 24 hours later some twatters and 'journalists' start building on this guess work, and before you can blame Jenas they've crystallised a hypothesis into a matter of fact.

I've yet to see any concrete evidence for this whole '1st of July' thing, and I still don't understand why it would stop AVB from saying he would join after that date has come about.

After last seasons episode I would be very disappointed if we sell Luka to Chelsea:mad: If we are to sell to another club in the PL I would prefer it to be Man City.

I believe a respected Journo posted information on how he is still being paid his severance package by Chelski on a monthly basis and that it would stop as soon as he found another job. Ensuring he gets to the end of the month might mean another few hundred thousand or more to him personally.

Sometimes when terminating a contract employers can demand a certain period of time in which the former employee cannot discuss terms of the severance package, internal stuff, apply for a job at one of the competitors or publicly state interest in a certain position at a company. My guess AVB simply cannot discuss, confirm interest etc. into another job (in the UK or maybe worldwide) publicly until a certain date.

It could be we want to delay all announcements to have a blitz of news come July 1/2 - the UA deal is already embargoed til then because our Puma deal doesn't expire until June 30, so we release the new kits, shirt sponsor, presumably 2-3 signings (cough), AVB, possibly announce the stadium. We bury the "Spurs fired Redknapp? What clowns!" story and declare it's a brave new world.

The ' obviously sell to the highest bidder is a strange one'.

I think Levy would be inclined to sell abroad rather than gain an extra £5 mill from a direct rival in Chelsea or, to a lesser extent, Utd.

Well let's hope so. I'm interested in seeing how AVB gets on when he's not being hounded out by a bunch of fucktards.

Levy will be able to achieve both - sell to the highest bidder and sell abroad
