I think to be honest if the window closes on Tuesday and there are some players like Fabiano, Hunterlaar, Young, Diarra et al available then Levy and co are not going to say "sorry guys i gotta take the kids to Legoland this weekend, i'll give you a call on Monday to see if your man is still available?". So i think a weekend deal is not out of the question.

By the way if you are a SkySports subscriber you can get all the sports channels on your iphone/android for free until the end of the year (normally £5 per month) i.e next Tuesday sitting at your desk with SSN on the headphones and Georgie on your lap. Sorry this is not ITK discussion but sure some will appreciate it given how much time they are on here.

Be careful with this as it is a subscription service and so failure to un-subscribe at the end of the free period will result in some costs!

Andy Burton and co must look at the websites for some of their info and seeing as we're the one which collects all the ITK stuff I wouldn't be surprised if some of the stuff comes from here. It seems a bit odd that the Young stuff has come up again from nowhere though.

Correct. Things will start to shape up Sunday

Redknapp wont be that involved in any of the deals anyway - it's Levy, Eales and co who will be busy at the moment. Redknapp might get called away from the training pitch to have a quick chat with a prospective players but wont do any of the negotiating etc.

I know but in the doc surgery yesterday it meant i saw the draw so i'd take the hit of a fiver if i forget. Besides they do say they will send a warning. It's like my 3 month free trial of ESPN at the moment, got it passed the wife by saying it's free - how long till she finds the bill? December is my guess!

He'd still need to be in the loop though. For example if Sevilla turn around and say that Fabiano is going to cost 3m extra Levy would have to speak to Harry and see if really wanted the player or if there was a viable alternative before sanctioning that sort of extra cash.

Well that's how I imagine it would happen anyway.

The further Redknapp is away from our finances the better IMO. lol

POTL's "more to come over the weekend" comment is a bit ambiguous. Does he mean more negotiations for the two players or more players?

This has been a summer of false dawns!

"All transfer activity to be completed before the World Cup"
"When the World Cup is over the activity will start"
"When the players involved in the World Cup get back after a 1-month break the activity will start"
"When we get back from the American tour the activity will start"
"When Man City start trimming their squad to 25 the activity will start"
"When we know whether we will be in the Champions' League groups the activity will start"
"When the draw for the group stages is complete the activity will start"
And now...
"Things will start to shape up from Sunday"

Is it any wonder we're all so paranoid about this?
Let's hope we haven't left it to late.
Let's hope the next statement in the series isn't "As soon as the January window opens..."

yes, but most of those quotes have come from us, and none from the club, so what do you expect

POTL on Khumalo

Lad has been on trial all week and been training with the first team- young centre half. Trial ended yesterday. Available at around £750,000- Did well, being considered at the moment.

Sure, yes.

I just meant that his focus on preparing for the weekend's game wont be a reason for things not happening today and tomorrow.

Oh by the way, regarding Khumalo... he is usually described as a CB, but apparently he can play right back! Sign him up
