We should also go all out for Diarra. Could do well with Parker. Todays result might, just might get Diarra done asap.

Wheres Akqayid? Hopefully he's got some news on some incomings.

i do actually think Bellamy would be a good signing but i dont believe we ll go for him. i think if we get another striker it will be an up and coming one like Leandro who wont demand a first team spot every game. i would expect us to line up with VDV playing off Adebayor this season

you dont think an aspiring Brazilian international costing circa £20m wont be expecting to be a regular?

serious question bringing it back to transfer relates stuff, i remember quite a few sarcasticley saying we'd end up with Parker, Cole and Bellemy when we were linked with Rossi, Llorente, Hulk, Falcao, Diarra et al, its starting to look like we may, the sad thing is are these the sort of players (ones with balls) that we actually really need now rather than an untried foreign 'superstar'?....just a question

I wouldnt say no to Parker, Bellamy, Adebayor, Cahill and Leandro.

Liverpool have signed Henderson, Downing, Enrique
Arsenal signed Gervinho
Man U signed Jones, Young

I wouldnt say those players are of any better quality than what we got. Id take Adebayor over Gervinho any day, and Bellamy is not worse than Young in his prime.

Only Man City and Chelsea are signing big big players, and they are the ones that dont have to balance the books.

Nope i dont. i would expect him to be like Sandro tbh

From what I saw he would be capable of starting looks a real talent.. and big enough for the premier...
Defoe looked fairly sharp when he came on would be interesting to see him and Adebayor together...

A week ago I wasnt interested in Parker but now I think he may just give us enough of a lift and the balls to push on ... Wolves is winnable with some balls and Liverpool likewise if modric plugs his brain back in ...

Bellamy is a top player IMO. Great back up for Bale or Lennon, could also do a job up front.

no doubt he is a talent, but at his age throwing him in the deep end as a regular seems like a bit of a risk. no idea why but players who have come from South America have tended to be slow starters including the likes of Tevez and Mascherano.

I do get the impression he is being slightly over hyped though - he didnt make Brazils copa america squad did he?

Problem is we dont need backup for lennon, we need someone better than him and lennon would be HIS backup. Hulk, Marin, anyone...
We always leave it late and look what happens.

isnt Leondro further on though in his development as an international footballer, iir Sandro was on the fringes and only made sporadic appearances?

i thought leandro had only made 1 or 2 appearances for Brazil?

Sandro made his debut for Brazil in 2009 and Leandro in 2011 so seems like they are pretty similar to me. Sandro has had a more accomplished club career as well by then (was a regular for Internacional when they won the south american champs league)

edit - just checked and Leandro made his debut in march 2011 for Brazil in a friendly at the emirates. Sandro played over double the amount of games for their club and they are the same age so Sandro is definately further ahead in his development

Surely with the FFP rules coming into place though, the time to spend big IS now?

There's something really fishy about this window and the lack of transfers for a while now. Again, where has all the money gone!?

Just caught up on the ITK contained on the RO forum.... so "yellow" was Leandro?!?

Hahaha... so when POTL claimed that Modric would be delighted and want to stay after Messrs Blue & Yellow were unveiled, he meant Adebayor and Leandro?

Surely POTL's reputation must be substantially discredited after this? Either he's just making things up as he goes along or else he's got a warped sense of humour...

Seriously? A City reject on loan and a relatively unproven/unknown Brazilian striker (truthfully, how many people had ever heard of Leandro before the rumours started that we were interested in him?). Not exactly gonna persuade Luka that WHL is the best place for him....

Blue & Yellow? What a load of crap.

Agreed especially as we won't have champions league money
