Just out of interest, how do release clauses work when the deal includes players or add ons?

For Dembele, does the £15m clause only get activated if the £15m is paid up front? If we offered £13m + Huddlestone (clearly worth more than £15m, so I'm not saying we should offer this), do they have to accept?

For Dembele, does the £15m clause only get activated if the £15m is paid up front? If we offered £13m + Huddlestone (clearly worth more than £15m, so I'm not saying we should offer this), do they have to accept?

Think a release clause is only activated if you pay the money upfront.

But i suppose fulham knowing that the 15 Mil is the price they would be selling for anyway would also accept the deal of 13 plus whoever on the basis they are having more value for money.

I would imagine not. I think it would depend on what their valuation of Huddlestone was.


We could offer them Bentley and Jenas, as that's clearly worth more than £15m.
