Agree with that, has been many a time over the years we have not even been linked with a player until the afternoon of deadline day (eg. VDV / Sissoko).

It has already been widely reported we are in talks with many of our targets so as you say news could break anytime.

I think the whole Kane thing has really fucked us. It's great he's staying for another year but the deadline should have been atleast a week or 2 earlier. I know that's easy to say but it feels like Paratici had one too many eggs in his basket anticipating the Kane departure and quickly had to re evaluate when it was official he was staying.

Really does put it into perspective that we were talking about Kane replacements earlier in the window yet we haven't even adequately replaced these 3!

The fact we're always talking about replacements for all the players from that 16/17 squad just shows how fucking good that team was doesn't it? I don't think we'll ever really replicate that again. Maybe it's better to look at what we have and what attributes our current players bring, and try to figure out which of our targets fit in best with that. I'm quite excited for Traore for instance, even though he's nothing like what we've had before.

We have been told how busy next week is (every week) hopefully we have our ducks in a row and we haven't been busy for nothing. Or, "pointless possession" as Jose used to call it.
