Players have to want to leave, sensible offers suitable to the club have to be made.

Do you know categorically that the reason for said players not moving thus far are as a result of Spurs' failures as a club. ??

Finger point by all means, but at least wave that sucker in the right direction.
Yeah pity we have loads of back up strikers to shift and who are refusing to go

We all need to take a step back here, realistically what business where we going to do in one window that would make us serious challengers for top 4 this season? It’s a rebuild and it takes time. We dont have oil money to spend huge amounts. It’s going take time, full stop

I agree with you and hey the window isn't over, we still have a day to see what happens, for all we know there could be some unexpected movements however I do understand why people are a little bit peeved. All summer there's been a lot things said which raised people's expectations.

First of all there was a lot of bluster from posters turning Paratici into a god amongst men and we were hearing how behind the scenes he was really making waves. Then we were hearing that being out of the champions league means that the board were going to be willing to spend the money necessary to try and break back in. Then we were hearing talk about several extremely lucrative sponsorships which meant that we were going to be able to go big regardless of the Kane situation. Then hearing that Covid had rendered europe absolutely broke and they were going to be forced to sell and it was a buyers market and that spurs were going to be licking their lips. Then we were hearing after Romero that the club was nowhere near done and hoping to still make big waves late in the window.

So I completely understand why people feel like we've been down the road of hearing hugely encouraging things which are difficult not to be excited by and now feel that feeling of disappointing when it doesn't transpire. I think after the manager hunt debacle peoples expectations were at an all time low but the noise coming out got people excited, I think without that noise then maybe people wouldn't be saying they felt they'd been here before. A lot of those now saying well what did you expect were also people who were also giddy about the news we were hearing so I do think it's a bit of a double standard when they have a dig at those letting their frustrations get the better of them.

This isn't the time for a window review, there's still a day to go and big things could well happen, after all that's why we hired Paratici, so I'm happy to remain hopeful and I'll hold judgement til then however what I will say is that each bit of business we have done so far on paper looks like a great bit of business, the individual deals. I just think given the noises everybody is hoping that we fill some glaring holes and give Nuno as many different solutions to problems he needs to deliver the best he can because so far he's shown he's deserving of the club going that extra mile to back him.

Manic Monday - Moody Monday for SC!

Though, I don't think many are all that surprised. Things have been very quiet for a few weeks now. And nothing has been close to imminent.

Emerson would be good, but also won't be surprised if it doesn't work out, as shifting Aurier or Doherty would be hard. But if it does get done, that's great, and hopefully a solid upgrade.

Traore is a shame. But completely understandable from Wolves' perspective. The slightly disappointing thing about that, is whether or not it could've been done five or six weeks ago? When Wolves would have much more time to find replacements. Alas... they are in a tricky situation, and are facing a relegation battle, that will only get harder without their best player.

I guess the biggest surprise is our inability to find any takers for Tanguy... at least on loan. I would have thought he'd do well in Italy. But sounds like many of those clubs are a bit broke.

So, Nuno should embrace Tanguy staying and try his best to get the player attuned to his style of play. Trying to look on the bright side... who knows? Maybe it'll be a blessing in disguise.

I really wouldn't be surprised if we're busy in January. Especially looking at players who's contracts are about to run down to 1 year left.

Thanks to all the ITKers for their stellar sharing over the summer. It's not easy sticking your neck out. But they do so in good faith, and this window in particular has felt like whiplash, with teams and players changing their minds frequently.

Onwards, eh?

I'm responding directly to the ITK Herc just posted, that we're happy with Dier/Sanchez.
I know you are Rob! And I do agree with you. But the coach has got more than tune out of them. Look what he done at Wolves with coady and Boly, who were both deemed ‘shyte’ by Wolves fans before any no arrived. I am an optimist right now.

Their fault. Sorry, it's such a load of bullshit. "Internet person told me we'd sign [X] and [Y] and now we haven't and I'm annoyed."

Why?

Take the information with a pinch of salt, especially as to expectations rather than a done deal. Surely the management procurement process taught everyone that if it wasn't obvious from the last 10 years - and wasn't explicitly set out in our forum guidelines.

No guarantees are given here. And the only person responsible for having raised expectations is that individual. Take some personal responsibility please lads and lasses.

So which is it? We're screwed because we can't shift our deadwood or those players are actually good enough? It can't be both.
My guess is like we saw with Tanganga, he was available on loan, and one performance later his agent was told he's going nowhere. Dier and Sanchez were both available at the start of the summer but DS wanted to prove himself and Dier had no interest. They've both played well for a few games and long term I certainly don't see either of them in our team if we want CL but I think for now, FP is happy to go along with them alongside Romero.

CB and RB were the two areas we needed to address most. Romero and Emerson go a long way to improving those areas. Along with tanganga, dier and Sanchez all improving under Nuno I am delighted so far. I am hoping for one more signing so let’s keep fingers crossed

There’s being an optimist but there’s also being a realist. 3 games. 3 games anyone can look amazing!! I bet it will be sooner rather than later before one of them (or both) return back to their normal selves.

This is my main issue. We've had years of seeing how shit they both are, how badly they cost us in key moments, yet a couple of ok performances and suddenly they're reborn?

No. They're not good enough. Neither is Winks.

This is the thing if they keep up their levels. Great! But they more than likely won’t! Yes we have 24 hours left, but a lot of us predicted this! And we’re seemingly on track with that train of thought!

Nuno deserves all the praise in the world for how he's got a tune out of the team for the first 3 games.

But we started well with Jose last season and then look what happened?

We still haven't addressed a lot of the glaring weaknesses we saw in the squad last year.

Perhaps it’s a little less black and white and the answer is somewhere in the shades of grey in between

No. They're not good enough. Neither is Winks.

Everything is not about just paying for transfer and they coming to play. Very much depends on manager.
In 1.5 year under Jose,I bet we cannot name our back4 at any point in time. With 3 PL games, I can name ours even before Romero is bedded in.

Nuno took Valencia to their 20+ year record points tally season with Ottamendi-Mustafi CB losing less games than a rampant RM side then...Its possible that Nuno feels he can organise our defense even with Dier-Sanchez.
What money we had to replace them could have gone to Pape Sarr or Gil - who knows.

We are in start of a rebuild - its not magic. Everything cannot happen in one window. If manager can improve few who we think are shit & that means we get a Sarr or Gil, so be it.

I expect at least one more aside from Emerson. We thought with Mendez we had Traoré nailed. But Wolves bottom of league, feel if they sell him now, they are as good as relegated. Relegation they loose out on near 150m.
Strange, Wolves will stay up with ease with or without traore, they just need to put balls into the net and they started with a tough run of games

I know right? Imagine what happens when he fully beats the Mourinho out of them ...

I also look forward to the day Lo Celso leaves the club. In my opinion he is nowhere near Christian Eriksen. A new CAM is much needed. Son's goal yesterday was the first free kick goal since CE two years ago... A Mikkel Damsgaard or James Ward-Prowse would make us much more dangerous on set pieces.
Are you the other face of Romario? ?
