combined at £40 million..........Turan and Ozil perhaps. I'll still be stunned if Levy pulls Ozil out of a hat, that would be a major acquisition.

If this info today is true then I'm expecting other ITK's to come in on this story this evening.
It wouldn't be both. I'd say Turan/Oezil and Forlan/Suarez/Fabiano.

Don't forget though, Levy is a master negotiator. Anyone who can get Kranjcar for £2mil and sell Davenport for £3mil should be able to sway Bremen to our prices.

You have a good point, £3 million for Davenport

Perhaps the Giovani going the other way could be the sweetener.

Should have signed him before the WC when I was raving about him :snooty:

Mabye they were interested in Gio before the world cup, and he didn't exactly show himself up during it either.

I hadn't heard of him before the WC to be honest, but i was very impressed with him during it and hopefully it's a case of the wisdom of crowds believing he's a top player.

I'm sure there are some on here who follow the Bundasliga much more than i do and have seen him play more, and the fact i haven't seen a negative comment about him so far gives me hope he's a good player.

Still, got to sign him first.

From Germany I would want to sign him, Marin and Dzeko, oh and also Muller but that won't happen.

I'm beginning to think that the Parker offer might be a deliberate deflection to take people off the scent, Levy probably new that the Spammers would reject his offer and make a big thing out of it, they have to have their big club moment in the MSM don't they, poor sods.

What's to say we didn't try? Rumour has it we did try before the World Cup. But it's in the hands of Werder Bremen. It makes sense that they would wait until after the World Cup to see if his value would rise from it. Just because we haven't signed players, doesn't mean we haven't been trying

This was POTL's last ITK for those interested:

Even after the additional offer that we put to him and his agent, we were still £25,000 apart on wages. He is being paid serious wedge there that is for sure. £95,000 a week. In my opinion, we have done the right thing. Would of been a good signing for the club, but he is not worth that kind of cash, and glad we haven't broken the bank for somebody who realisitically was not a necessity, and was more of a luxury player (although still would of been great to see him at WHL).
Don't been downbeat anyone, we have irons in the fire and are working on other deals- and I assure you, if a few of them come off- you will all be very happy.

I am now off for 10 days so probably won't have a chance to get on in that time, something will happen whilst I am gone- so apologies that you won't hear it from me here first- although I may sneakily be able to get on at some point and update you all.

Cheers for now.

So something will happen by tomorrow going by this

New Parker info... I hope they don't sell him. He would be an improvement on JJ but we need to focus on other areas first

That sounds more like hope than expectation, although who knows?

Interesting snippet from Biz - and to be expected. Why the hell would Parker want to stay and struggle with West Ham when he could be playing Champions League football for Spurs?

No-brainer.

So are we going to sell Palacios, Modric or Huddlestone to make way for a 29 year old with a massive wage bill and a somewhat worrisome recent injury record?

Bugger. All was quiet when I last looked and this was just on page 2. Now it has all kicked off, Fazza is in full flight and I am in danger of getting sucked into the malestrom that is always the case on this thread. I just never learn.
